You guys just had to burn another one. :o

Anyway. In regard to the F4 cast and their chemistry. I walked away feeling like they had very little in the film proper, but that they were all giving decent performances. At least as decent as Shakman would allow them.

Well, everyone besides Joseph Quinn because he ****ing blows.

See a lot of negativity about Pedro/Kirby but I really felt a deep, quiet connection between them. Two adults who’ve been together a long, long time.
100% agree. I never doubted them as a couple. The type that have been together for so long, that with all the doubts they have about themselves, the one thing they don't have to worry about is their love for each other.

Loved how they played off each other during the birth. Great stuff.

I just wasn't a fan of them teasing both as a bit dangerous but not exploring it beyond that. Especially with Sue seeming to doubt Reed a bit.

He had to flirt with CGI T1000. :o

Explains your relationship issues.

For sure. The biggest flaw with MCU FF was always going to be an unwillingness to explore that Reed is kind of a 2000s prestige antihero at heart. One of the most complex superheroes out there, but you’re never gonna get Hickman style characterization in the MCU.

Hot take: I love Pedro, but I thought his performance in F4 was the worst I’ve seen from him. I now can see why Marvel squashed his whole transatlantic accent shtick because it peeked out a few times throughout the film and was actively awful to me. I can’t imagine a whole film of that. 🤷‍♀️

@Snow Queen gonna have to deal with me saying, "why didn't you like my post" all night because she was busy living instead of being here before the other thread closed! :argh:

On the contrary, I think Pedro played Reed a little too well.

He really leaned into Reed's scientific precision and his coolness, until the point where he felt a little sociopathic. I didn't feel the same love that Kirby's Sue had for Baby Franklin from Pedro's Reed because he saw the baby as an anomaly.

But again, that's how Reed is in the comics also.

Leave it to the professionals, Pedro.
