The Superhero Cinematic Civil War: Quoth the Kraven, "Nevermore." - Part 61

I’m getting Rebel Moon vibes off of Kraven. Just gory and edgy for the sake of being gory and edgy and just overall very offputting. At LEAST the Venom movies have a fun campy vibe to them that you can just have fun with. Heck even Morbius and Madame Web had breezy vibes to them.

This just looks miserable and cruel.

Perhaps this will be the movie to make Sony realize the Avi Arad led production team just isn’t capable of making acceptable spider-man related content.

With the exception of Venom, this spidey-less spider-man villain/side character universe has been nothing short of a spectacular financial disaster. The sooner they hand the creative reigns over to guys like Lord & Miller, the better

When you fall asleep before midnight and the Kraven trailer is right there waiting for you when you wake up

I also didn't think it'd be 12AM Pacific when it dropped. :lmao:

As for the trailer itself, if you don't find the repeated "My sahhhnnn" voiceovers from Russell Crowe to be charming then what are you even doing here? :o

I aint even getting that, lol!!! I am getting Morbius vibes. Only with blood.

The one time when two versions of the same character weren't an upgrade or downgrade, it stayed the same in suckage. :o

Here's a wild theory:

That Rhino is a scrapped CGI model asset with minimal retooling that they were originally going to use for Amazing Spider-Man 3.

I think that had we gotten TASM 3, they would have had Giamatti transform into a giant mutated Rhino. After all, why not keep the pattern going? They did the same thing with Lizard and the odd (yet still creative) choice to base Electro off of electric eels.

Dear god, Kraven looks like an absolute dumpster fire. The action looks mid and it just looks gory for the sake of being gory. Pure trash. ATJ deserves better.

It takes a lot more then that to be Rebel Moon. It needs an incoherent plot, some all time bad acting, and an obscene runtime, that only gets longer with each release!

And a s' ton of slow mo, like however much you're allowed to have in a movie.

After Kraven, I don't believe Sony has any more Marvel movies in their upcoming slate that don't have Spider-Man in it, so maybe this is the end of the nonsense? There's still the fourth Holland Spider-Man, Beyond the Spider-Verse and I think a live action Miles movie in development but those are all movies that audiences actually want to see. :o
