You know I've been watching coverage all week long of Gunn's DC press conference from all of the usual Youtube pundits and its suddenyl hit me how surreal all of this coverage and criticism is when there hasnt been one project released yet. Like, imagine people saying the MCU is dead 5 months before Iron Man and Incredible Hulk came out.

I do think Gunn’s arrogance plays a role in the negativity. Though I’ve enjoyed his superhero work other than the disappointing Creature Commandos, he has given the impression in interviews that building a connected superhero cinematic, streaming and video game universe on the back of the failed Snyderverse was no big whoop. Feige appeared to be much more humble introducing Marvel’s B-Team, as he should have been.

I very much doubt he'll be arrogant privately at least as we get close to the Superman release date. The pressure of the whole upcoming slate of films within the new universe and its impact on WB's future and even the chances of attempting something like this again (if they fail again after such high profile failures) will hang in the balance of how well his Superman film is received. Dude will get nervous as the time comes.

I'm sure there are many who aren't too keen on his seeming overconfidence before a single positive result, but it also feels like just part of his nature at this point.
