The Superman Look: Shaping Superman

Not to be an jerk, but you are falling into the same mode everyone else does. "I know nothing about them, but they are dangerous." That is simply not true. Again, DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.
Of course the documentary you saw said anabolics were bad. If they did a documentary and said, "Guess what, anabolics are perfectly safe", no one would have watched the darned thing. It's fear mongering that puts money into the pockets of the producers.
I did my research, talked with three docs, got fully screened for liver enzymes and kidney function, and talked with fomer/current users before I started using.
Just like your beer argument. You can drink a couple beers a day for the rest of your life, and feel no ill effects. However, if you drink a case of beer a day for the rest of your life, YOU WILL RUN INTO PROBLEMS.
Again, used properly, in the proper dosages (that is the key... realistic doasages) there are no ill effects for an otherwise healthy person.:cwink:

Since I'm a woman I believe I can only have half that of a man (alcohol). But I don't drink so avoid any problems anyway. Another problem is because steroids are illegal who knows what's in it (or if there's other crap there) and if it was meant for humans. I do hope you watch out because everyone is different and what might cause no problems for some mightn't for others. As I said there are known long term effects even if I don't know much about them. I know the body can have a remarkable healing capacity once you stop doing something to it. I guess you'll see.

Fallacies about anabolics.
1. Anabolics are illegal.
No. Anabolics are legal. There are plenty of legitimate uses for them, and just about any doc can prescribe them, and they can be picked up at any local pharmacy. THEY ARE LEGIT MEDICINE.
2. You don't know what's in them..
Again, wrong. When they are either manufactured in the U.S., or imported legally into the U.S., they must meet FDA standards of purity and accuracy.
Again, we are talking legit medicine here.
3. Long term steriod use has long-term side effects.
Again, it's a matter of relativity. Again with my beer argument. A couple a day, compared with a case a day. A couple a day will not hurt you. A case a day will eventually kill you.
And speaking of side effects, even aspirin has side effects.
Here's a great example of side effects. Viagra was originally used as a treatment for patients with a very specific cardio-vascular problem. It was noted that one reported side effect was the now famous side effect. Now it's the most presicribed non-antibiotic in the U.S., but not for it's original purpose.
Again, I had 3 docs tell me that anabolics were perfectly safe. The doc that prescribed my stuff new I was just taking them as a recreational athlete, and still had no problem doing so as long as I came to him for the injections.
I compare the craze of "steroid phobia" to the "refer madness' craze of the early 50's. It's dis/misinformation. Now keep in mind, if you have some sort of live/kidney/heart problems to begin with, then yes, anabolics can make those things worse, but they will not harm an otherwise healthy individual.

Not all problems are known or can be tested for though. I'm mainly thinking of heart problems. I know aspirin can cause problems because both my parents take them for medical reasons. I also found eating tuna and salad sandwiches around 3 times a week caused me to bruise easily. Plus it made me hate tuna so I stopped. As for the illegal steroids that too was in the documentary where a user became a pusher. It was called something like, "The man whose arm exploded". He had the biggest arms and was in the "Guinness Book of Records". Lets just say one of his arms basically had internal bleeding that he tried to drain using a needle. In the end he had to get medical treatment. It also destroyed his life. But he did do things in excess I'll admit. And is an extreme case. I hope it doesn't cause you trouble too.

"The man whose arms exploded" was Greg Valentino. He is an idiot, and a perfect example of those who use steroids the wrong way. He injected a product called "Synthol" directly into his biceps, triceps and delts. Synthol is basically just oil, similar to cooking oil. He was injecting it straight into his muslces to make them look bigger, and at one time he had 26" biceps. I have met him. He is about 5'6" tall. He is an idiot. He is a perfect example of how NOT to do anabolics.
Of course, if you are not licensed to prescribe or sell anabolics, you can get into trouble, just like Valentino did.
You keep bringing up side issues like the one above.
The simple fact is... done properly, steroids are safe. And yes, there have been numerous long-term studies about how to safely use anabolics. And drug that hits the market gets about 10 years of FDA testing, and they test for just about every complication/side effect you can think of, as they don't want to be sued for an unknown side effect.
And as for my case, I had my liver enzymes tested for 5 years after I quit juicing. They are perfect. My kidney function is 100%. I have a resting heart rate of 55-57 bpm. Other than just getting older, I am in as good shape now as I was before I started.

Angeloz,
Take it from me, steroids, when used properly, are not dangerous. I used for 14 months, gained 45 pounds, AND HAD NO ILL SIDE EFFECTS.
As a matter of fact, when used PROPERLY, you get not only the desired muscle growth, but you get very beneficial side effects that are quite usefull in the bedroom.
Don't believe the negative hype that comes from high-school health class. the right chemicals, used the right way, will not harm anyone.
It's the idiots that use 10 times the recommended dose that get into trouble down the road.
I can't use anymore, as I am a police officer now, but I would start again in a heartbeat if they were legalized.

I agree - I took a course of Dyanabol in 1996 and there where no ill effects either.

Hey no problem man. I also am always on the look out for a new workout regiment, although I always find my back to my original workout. It's like my default. I work upper body three days a week and lower body three days a week while running 3 miles six days a week, and Saturday night/Sunday is my cheat period where I eat like a pig and lay around!

And then Monday is my favorite day to workout because I'm all carbed up!

I am the same way, I look for different ways to mix it up or shock my body with new exercises, like supersets, cycles, push/pull, but I have always kept the original frame of my workout, I hit everything twice a week, just a example 1. Chest/Delts/Triceps, 2. Back/Traps/Biceps, 3. Legs/Abs, then after a month I change it, 1. Chest/Biceps/Traps, 2. Back/Triceps/Delts, 3. Legs/Abs, it works for me, I play sports for cardio so it changes all the time depending on the season. I love the cheat day, 24hours of eating anything I want and not getting off the couch, perfect.

LOL :woot: Tell me about it! Sunday is my day, and now with NFL football going, it starts at 11am with the pre-game shows and goes until I pass out that night, it is a dream come true, I see Pizza, Hamburgers, Doritos, dancing in my dreams at night, I have a sickness :oldrazz: . Yeah getting married and then going all lazy sounds awesome, if I get married I may just end up doing the same, but that is a long, long time from now.

I pick up a frozen pizza every saturday night for NFL Sunday. I usually wake up around 10:30 and make Cinnamon Rolls for Pre-Game shows, and stock the Fridge with Gatorade for all day access. Cheeto's are my snack food of choice, and I will more than likely finish the night off with a big greasy steak burger and cheese fry from steak and shake drive thru.

I long for the day my fitness consists of forty minutes on the cross trainer and then.......home!!

Awesome day bud, this is how I start out, Pancakes and Bacon at 11am, then at 1pm it is a big bag of the Spicy Doritos with Ice tea, 3pm is Pizza time, 5pm is Burgers, then to finish it all off is Cherry Cheeze Cake, after that I am happy to get back to the gym on Monday.

40min of cardio! You won't even be able to get me to walk down the street LOL :woot:

I agree - I took a course of Dyanabol in 1996 and there where no ill effects either.

Same stuff I used. I'm glad I now have backup to my claim that anabolics can be safely used when dosages are respected and controled. Look a few pages back for an explanation.
Quick catch-up...I cycled for 14 months, and gained 45 pounds. With just a little carving, I would up 195 at 4%.

You just made me crave a slice of Chery Cheese Cake, I honestly think I'm picking some up for Sunday now:yay: . I usually put the Pizza in the oven toward the end of the 2nd quarter so that it will be ready by the beginning of the third.

I feel ya on not walking down the stree. 40min could be wishful thinking one day:yay:

Cherry Cheese Cake rules bud, it is a great way to finish off the day :woot: ! Usually I have about 4 friends over, we always get together and watch the games on Sunday, have been doing it for 6 years now, we order Pizza for the end of the first game and the start of the second, it is a great day indeed.

I hope that I will always workout, right now I can't see myself not doing it, but honestly who knows, a wife, kids, that could take all of my workout time and then if I could get 40min of cardio in during a week it would signal the end of the world :cwink:

But right now, it is 6 days a week so I look like my hero "The Dark Knight" :batty:

In college, and shortly afterwards, the routine was to be at the Pigskin by 11 and get food and drinks ordered. The Pigskin was an AWESOME sports bar, I was skeptical because Athens is made up of alot of bars, but there mostly small and you don't usually stay that long, you bar hop. But this place was packed and rowdy from 11-11, you wore your teams jersey, you got hammered, you got rowdy, and you had an awesome time. Sometimes, I'd skip drinking on Saturday's just so I could have my game face on Sunday!

In complete honesty, I think I will always workout. It's a part of who I am. But with a wife and kids possibly in the mix, I don't think I'll want to, or have to, or have the time to be so crazy about it, so detailed and time consumed and nutrition consumed. I think I'll chill about it, and thats when the 40min cardio phase will come into play.

While Superman, Angel, and Batman are my favorite heroes, I always wanted to have the ripped physique of Spider-Man. There's always been something cool about getting a girl to come over, her thinking your an ordinary guy who may or may not work out with a t-shirt on, taking the t-shirt off, and being cut and defined in all the right places. The look on there faces, that suprised look, I still love it.......:yay: It's like, a turn on for me. I'm a former fat kid, I reserve the right to be petty and vain sometimes lol!

That bar sounds like a good time, what team jersey do you wear? LOL! I remember those days of getting your drinking face on :woot: .

Yeah I will always workout as well, maybe not as much as now but I will do it 4 times a week just for health reasons.

I loved all the superheros when I was kid, Batman, Hulk, Iron Man, Superman, Spiderman, and I still do, the way that they looked, huge muscular bodyparts with small waists and 6 pack abs, they were just amazing, that is what I trained to look like, I still do to this day, I don't show it off normally but in the summer at the beach, it is fun to see the looks on peoples faces when I strip down.
