The Wolverine The Svetlana Khodchenkova / Viper Thread

I guess so.

I would love to see Svetlana Khodchenkova again as Viper BUT in a MCU film like in Captain America or better in Avengers. :D

Yeah well Spider-Man has dated She-Hulk before, does that mean ASM can show She-Hulk?

[BLACKOUT]**** it. I would watch that. lol[/BLACKOUT]

EDIT: Actually I think I'll edit in a serious response just to add a bit of info. As far as I'm aware about the rights thing. It seems to be generally some of the more recognisable villains across the Marvel properties have some form of dual rights. Well apart from Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver it largely seems to be villains that are in this situation. I think Kevin Feige even said Norman Osborn was among those character they could use.

I think if we use the current Quicksilver situation then it's likely that each studio can use certain characters, but can't use certain aspects unique to the property the other studio owns the rights too. Like Viper can't be Madame Hydra and Quicksilver can't be a mutant.

She was married to Wolverine at one point. She probably has other x-connections but that's probably the most significant.

Viper and Silver Samurai had a long term partnership in the comics too, so she's not totally out of left field with her inclusion in this, just the way she was handled and portrayed.

She was in no way as bad as January Jones. Her character was just tonally weird in THIS PARTICULAR film. She would have worked perfectly fine in The Avengers or Spider Man, I think she was good performance wise, it was just a jarring tonal shift.

I didn't even mind January Jones in First Class, it also helped that she was hot :oldrazz:

I'd like to see Viper and Yukio again. One of this franchise's problems is dumping secondary/tertiary characters after just one film, which doesn't help to establish a thread of continuity.

I don't think she ACTED badly or poorly...but her character was pointless. If she had more of a purpose or had some kind of scene where she's vulnerable and shows WHY she's doing what she's doing...then it'd be okay.

She's a femme fatale, are their motives ever really explained?

Catwoman (TDKR), Black Widow (TA), Mystique (the X-Men movies) and even Elektra (Daredevil) are examples of "femme fatales" who had their motivations explained.

I dont understand...
I loved Viper...maybe the clothes and makeup were a bit exaggerated but i loved the way she gave he lines and her moves...and great voice...was indeed a cold mutant b....h

Yeah I enjoyed her. But was left without a motivation or real purpose to her role... that's why I needed a scene where we get some kind of explanation of her. Or some scene where we get to see her doing something normal and not just plot service. G

Good villains should be sympathetic...

1) She works for [blackout]Yashida.[/blackout]
2) It's only a mystery what her ultimate goal is after [blackout]he appears to die.[/blackout]
3) Then you find out [blackout]he ain't dead, so it's (1).[/blackout]

Yeah but...meh. Was she needed? Or could her screen time have gone to better stuff? It's just that all her scenes were the same. She was a ***** and spit at people and then died. I would have liked something more if she had to be in it. Maybe the extended cut has something more

Elektra King, Vesper Lynd, Mallorie Cobb, Catherine Tramell, to name a few more.

Just came back from my second viewing, there's something that I don't get. Towards the end, when Logan is locked into the machine and she's talking to him about having true courage and whatnot, her eyes begin to water. I don't understand why, though. My friend said it could've been because she left bad about doing this to another mutant, and I think that would've been cool to explore, but there was nothing more to it.

Anyone else spot her watering eyes during that scene?

Unfortunately it wasn't HER voice. She was dubbed.

Viper can stay away (and I'm pretty sure they know by now what a failure she was, so I doubt we'll see her again). Although I hope to hell we get to see Madame Hydra (who should be some smokin' hot BRUNETTE) in Capt. America sometime.

By the way it ended, it looks pretty good that Yukio will return and SHE was probably the best thing in the movie. (Can you believe that she was not an actress before? She was just a model).

By the way, I checked Svetlana's twitter account, its nice to see that she responded to X-Menfilms.com tweets
