Who's writing the story? Of course, in a FF section of the forum, popularity will likely side with THING, but even if I didn't like him better I think the Thing would win out. Both are strong and tough, but as pointed out, the Thing has a lot more experience, plus some nifty "wraslin" moves

Originally thing was stronger than Collosus but thats cause Piotr was like 16. He's a lot stronger now and he's had a lot more experience. Being an X-man for like half your life isnt exactly a cakewalk. So whether you guys believe me or not this'd be a close fight. Ben's probably a more skilled fighter but Pete's more powerful these days and he's got one serious temper.

I don't know the Thing can go toe to toe with the Hulk, but then again Steel or Rock?

Well in terms of strength not quite sure , yes when he was a teenager he could only lift in the 70 ton range but now in adult form he can lift in excess of 100 ton range . In the beginning of the thing recieving his powers he could only lift 5 tons , hahah kinda pathetic but the thing can now lift also greater than 100 tons . Saying which one is stronger is pretty much impossible , although colossus is not as strong as the hulk , and the thing can go toe to toe with the hulk. So i guess wed have to look at sustaining injury , and the power of boths armor , In secret wars , after doctor doom made a massive explosion killing thor , the hulk , and the thing , colossus survived due to the invulernability of his armor . So it seems he can withstand more damage , from an explosion , but from physical damage not quite sure . Although the only problem with colossus's armor is it has a tendancy to change him back to normal if hes knocked out soo in other words , he could be screwed if the thing beat him long enough. Also the weakest spot on colossus' army is his eyes soo the thing could try and exploit it . In fighting style , even though colossus is a "farm boy" Ben grimm has trained at an early age in fighting and he was also in the yancy street gang , which makes it more likely that the thing has greater fighting style by far, than colossus. Id have to say the thing

Peter would probably do better surviving an massive explosion (as seen in Secret Wars) but in a fight, Ben has the edge I think.

I kinda wish they'd do this up right. (I mean,The whole Thing vs Hulk bit got old a loooong time ago.)
A Puppet Master-ed Colossus, truly out to kill Ben... that would be a scary thing. Something on the order of Ben's homicidal attack on Reed in FF#42, after he'd been brainwashed by the Wizard. Scared the crap outta me when I was a kid.

True. But Peter isn't really steel, and Ben isn't made out of rock...
Mainly I think it's his experience that would give him the advantage in a "street fight" with Peter, not necessarily his superior strength.

Surely these two have fought before...I'd be curious as to how it was handled.

Yeah, they're pretty evenly matched, and I can't really say I like one character more than the other. Makes it kinda hard to pick a winner.

Hence , rock like substance , the changing of his skin is rock like in texture its not rock per say . its just some freak ****ed up molecular changing.

From what i remember as well as some reading up i just did on both characters. The Thing is probably a fair bit stronger In Wikipedia it says he has an unknown limit of well over 100 tonnes. For Collosus it says 100+ but doesnt emphasize anything. This to me implies that the thing is stronger and just judging by encounters i remember between these guys and various enemies I'd guess that the Thing is roughly 50% stronger.

Collosus is however considerably more durable and has considerably greater endurance (able to maintain peak level exertion for several days before he gets tired whereas the thing can go for roughly a day) So i think Collosus would win by wearing Ben down.
