Marvel vs DC, Who up against who?

And... it hasn't existed properly for over 10 years?

What am I smoking? Tony Stark is Marvel's Bruce Wayne and more (he actually builds his own equipments undisputedly in the comics & in the movie). Even Bruce can make short work of Hal.

Nope, I'm enjoying the Knaufs' run on Director of SHIELD quite a lot. I just don't think repulsors, some satellite assistance, and a record of getting your ass kicked by just about everyone compares to a GL ring's limitless versatility.

Frankly, I'm really friggin tired of hero vs. hero. It's just a way for fanboys (or writers) to play My Dad can Beat Up Your Dad with their favorite characters regardless of logic or the fact that written right, these guys wouldn't be fighting each other at all but teaming up against the real threat because they're heroes and they aren't stupid.

Well, written right, there are plenty of people who'd fight each other. I don't think Iron Man, for one, is above fighting anybody at this point. And that's not a recent development or anything--he's been a *****e for a long, long time. Civil War just brought it to the fore of his characterization.

You know what Iron Man has that the other 95% superheroes don't? The man upgrades and evolves.

Tony has brain and guts, Hal only has guts and easily flabbergasted by Sinestro speech in the confinement cell. Even he's flabbergasted with Tony's own contraption in JLA/Avengers.

Yeah, his armors have gotten more advanced. I still don't think they're advanced enough to take on a GL, though. It'd be a closer fight now that he's got Extremis and his ability to interface with all kinds of modern technology, but I doubt Extremis would let him override the ring. Short of getting some lucky shots in, that's the only way I could really see him taking down a competent GL. Plus, they just operate on different scales. Regardless of his brains, Tony's first thought when dealing with an overwhelmingly powerful foe is still apparently to tackle them head on. He did it against the Hulk in WWH and lost, he did it against Thor and lost (although Thor instigated the fight), etc. I'd say a good GL takes it 8 out of 10 times.

Of course, if we're putting him up against Hal specifically, I'd gladly be in Tony's corner, even if he is the underdog. ;)

Oh Iron Man will lose in a first chance fight. But that's because he doesn't know the power of the ring (Extremis doesn't do anything except passive defense). But Tony Stark is an underrated detective himself and would try to analyze the ring energy for its source and weakness. Second combat: Ring energy feedback. With a lot of Sinestro corps holograms as decoys.

Ah, I always go by first encounters for hero fights, unless the characters have some existing knowledge of each other. Doing otherwise always tends to overcomplicate matters with thoughts of prep time and trap-laying and all sorts of other stuff that takes away from the essential scenario of two characters being thrown in a room and having to fight.

First encounter actually nullifies a typical Iron Man fight. Which is: a) detection & data gathering b) test c) upgrade to match. Iron Man has the tools to survive first encounter, but first encounter is needed than he needs to rely on his onboard computer and resources at hand, which I say is still very significant. Satellites, arsenals, holo-emitters, temporal stealth capability, other iron suits will come in play. Except the top 25% of GL, Iron Man will still eek out a win by his wits in first encounter only.

Also I forgot to say, Iron Man's data gathering is one of the best in the business, far surpassing Batman. The man has a knack to know the opponent's achilles heel thanks to his onboard CPU.

Booya.

Yeah, they're kind of on different playing fields, though. Galactus is powerful, but he's not universe-crushing powerful. The Celestials and plenty of other beings right in Marvel's own universe are more powerful than he is.

Hey Corp, since you think GL can beat Tony(though I think Tony would own GL and I'm a HUGE GL fan)do you think Nova can take one?

Currently? Sure. Nova's in Silver Surfer territory at this point. I don't think it'd be a sure thing, but he'd probably beat most GLs short of Kyle or Hal.

So you think Hal or Kyle would beat him.......or even SS? I haven't read GL in awhile becuase I don't want to read Final Crisis so I don't know what's going on. Did they get upgrades or something?

No, they're still the same as ever. Kyle handled some pretty impressive cosmic threats in his time, though. I don't think any GLs would take the Silver Surfer, by the way. Richie's a bit inexperienced and flies by the seat of his pants a lot, plus the Silver Surfer's all about energy manipulation and the GLs' whole schtick is energy-based.

I can see your point but you know the way IM is right now, you'd never see him lose to GL. Whenever they meet in comics, whether it was JLA/Avengers 2000s or the JLA/Avengers mini in the 90s when they went up against Darkseid and Magneto, it has always come out a draw......or GL just losing to an inferior opponent. IM is almost top tier now and I can't see them letting him lose to GL. Though I was shocked by Thor losing to Supes.

There was a GL/SS mini where Kyle broke even against him. Then they teamed up to beat up Thanos and Hal.

SS was drained of most of his power by Parallex. He was extremely weak. No way Kyle could stand a chance against a fully powered SS.
