The thunder- thunder- THUNDERCATS HOOOOOO!-thread - Part 2

It's unexplainable technology, just go with it ;) . I assume Lion-O can put his arm in and it's got switches and stuff in it. Also, we know that the claw shield does have some magical properties. Remember how when Claudus died, the gauntlet sort of changed colors and in a way sort of died with Claudus before it was passed to Lion-O? Seemed to imply that like the Sword of Omens has a magical spell on it, so does the gauntlet.

Am I the only one that thought they shoulda licked each other rather than kiss? I mean, they are cats. :o

That would be great.

I wish the female cats had multiple hooters in the front and one on the back for dancing. :oldrazz:

That was a really REALLY good ending. They just set it up SO well. Man.

I have a TON of respect for the Thundercats storyline, from the serial nature, to the new take on technology, to reutilizing all the old characters is great, GREAT new ways, to having all the emotion, to including little easter eggs like Mon-Starr as a cameo. So much great stuff here.

The only thing I think they've mis-stepped on is Cheetara's personality. I don't think she has one, and they really dropped the ball on that one. She's a little shallower than Wily Kit and Kat, actually, which is sad. She needs something.

It's really a great show, and even though I didn't really like the changes themselves, and am genuinely tired of cartoons, the show is done so very well, that i've warmed up to all these concepts.

I totally agree. She is a Cleric and should have more sage-like qualities to her. Instead she seems to be there just for the boobs.

Look on the bright side, unlike some other speedsters at least Cheetara's not tripping on mud & marbles.

Cheetara has been setting up Tygra and Lion-O against each other so they would fight each over her for Cheetara's amusement. Clearly :D .

^Yeah, Bible stories tend to make for epic moments.

I could definitely go for Cheetarah as a sage-ly character... I don't know what sages did, but Cheetarah doesn't seem to do any of that. And she does have a remarkably large rack, even for a cartoon character.

She's not in Marvel/DC league of boobs, luckily :) and they aren't THAT large.

IMO, she should have been more straight forward with Tygra and not tease Lion-O that much but on the other hand Tygra was too busy undermining Lion-O leadership than getting back to Cheetara.

She is a Sage but maybe the warrior side of the caste.

*Cheetara is munching on a Snickers bar*

*The other Thundercats stare at her*

Cheetara- What? I have a high metabolism.

We know Cheetara was likely a peasant and orphan, and Jaga was basically like her father. Her connection with Tygra goes back to when they were kids.

I mean, perhaps it all makes sense, but they haven't shown us any of that, which is too bad... simply spending any time with her in conversation could have given her good reason to be supportive of Lion-O, or not use her sage abilities...

But again, this is the one misstep in the show...

What is this Sage stuff? I thought she was supposed to be a Cleric (which can mean anything I suppose)

I look at her as a guardian not a person who gives out life lessons in rousing speeches :)

She is probably way to young to offer that kind of advice .

I want Cheetara start having visions, like she did in the old show. I also want here to leave Tygra for the Cheetos cheetah. Hopefully at least one of those happens.

Cheetara having say ESP is something they could explore in the next half of the series. I think Cheetara is already powerful and formidable enough though.

Pretty sure anyone would rather be with the Cheetos Cheetah the cat has style.:word:

The only thing the old series did better was the voices and the intro but the new series has far superior stories.

El Bastardo, I think CN is basically chopping up the 26 episodes as "two seasons." So the show is going on another hiatus for a while.

MessiahDecoy123, I think the original series had some decent voice work, but the dialogue and overall voice work doesn't really hold up very well and stand the test of time. I mean I love the characters and their voices for how "iconic" and "identifiable" they are. I think Earl Hyman was great as Panthro. But the other characters just sounded too stiff at times and their dialogue was also at times ridiculous.

I prefer the voicework in this series mainly because it's more natural and realistic. Andrea Romano is great at getting that type of sound.

Most 80s voice work hasn't aged well, not because the actors themselves were bad but mostly due to the clunky dialogue they often rattled off.
