The Rise of Darkness may well be the most cliché title ever.

Numeros Star Wars title is cliché and George Lucas himself said is inspired by the old movies title of the 30 and 50

I'm not gonna be surprised if it's called The Knights Of Ren. Or something to do with the First Order.

Something someone pointed out to me the other day...

The first movie in the trilogy is about a change in the state of the galaxy, such as the Phantom Menace of the Sith returning after hundreds of years, or a New Hope rising to fight the Empire, or The Force Awaking as a new Jedi and Sith rise.
The second is the escalation of war, such as the Empire striking back, or the Attack of the Clones.
And finally, the third is one side of the Force achieving victory over the other, such as the Return of the Jedi or the final Revenge of the Sith.

One has to consider something as far as these titles go:

"Phantom Menace" = Our reintroduction to the Jedi and Sith, but the title explains that the Sith are back after being believed to be dead for a millennia. It also explains that Palpatine is "the phantom menace" has evil plot is yet to be unveiled including his true self.

"A New Hope" = Luke is the new hope who will bring balance to the Force and restore peace to the galaxy.

"The Force Awakens" = There has been an awakening in the Force and Rey is the one who will bring balance back and restore peace to the galaxy.

Now, with the second films in the PT and OT we've had "Attack of the Clones" and "The Empire Strikes Back." This makes me think Rian will go with this same theme ala "The Assault of the First Order" or "The Darkside Rises."
