The Last Jedi Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa (VIII)

Kylo Ren has no idea that Leia is actually alive if you think about it. He could think she's dead for all intents and purposes since he felt her presence, hesitated and then saw the support fighters blow up the flagship's bridge.

It'd be a pretty powerful scene in IX if Kylo had thrown away the last attachment to the light in that moment, then years later finds out that his mother lived to die of natural causes and even took Rey as a surrogate daughter.

Would be interesting to see how he would react to that.
