The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien

NPH's interview was awesome. As was Dolph Lundgren. This episode was great.

Too bad he didn't get a chance to promote his new movie, 'Command Performance.', which came out...let's see..11/02/09. Snap, yesterday. Or the new DTV Universal Soldier: Regeneration which hits 1/5/10 on dvd.

But still, it was awesome seeing him.

Good episode, great NPH interview, haven't watched American Chopper for like 4 years, and yeah, Stapp was really poor last night. He's usually decent live.

Bodybuilder Pender was funny as hell too.

What do you guys think how Conan felt after hearing about Leno saying if asked by NBC to return to the Tonight Show, he'd accept? Leno makes no bones about the fact that he didn't want to leave the Tonight Show, and only did it by force. With Leno's own show flundering, NBC may have to make a decision on what to do with Leno eventually.

I'm sure Conan's not happy about it and just as Leno would take back his old spot Conan would be more than happy to go to a network that actually wants him and is going to pay him. ABC comes to mind.

This is true. ABC would pounce on him as soon as he's available. I know that they have Jimmy Kimmel but the fact that they flirted with Letterman in 2005 and Leno earlier this year means that Kimmel could be replaced when there is a better option available, or he could be bumped back to the Jimmy Fallon/Craig Ferguson timeslot, but I doubt that would be the case.

I have a feeling that either Conan or Leno will make the jump to ABC eventually, probably Leno. If Leno goes to ABC and claim the 11:30pm timeslot, he'd go up against Letterman and Conan, two of his rivals, and it'd be an all-out war for late-night television.

You know what taste like ass was hilarious :hehe:

The Tonight Show with Conan O Brien would be dead. in. the. water. :csad:

Granted Leno is a better interviewer than Conan, but still...

I used to Watch Letterman, then Leno, then Conan, quit, then cameback with Conan since he took over Tonight Show. I used to watch Conan...at like 7 pm on Comedy Central when he was on. I think I stopped watching for 1-2 years before he took tonight show. I dunno why.

Only thing I liked on Letterman was Top Ten List...and maybe some of the skits, like Alan the announcer.

Leno just had those funny/silly paper ads :o

How long is Leno's new deal with NBC?

Two years! Leno knew his 10pm show would suck and the ratings would be horrible, so he forced NBC into signing a 2-year contract that keeps him at 10pm. This is why NBC is in such a terrible position. They can't get rid of him. And they can't get rid of Conan either. Despite how poor the ratings have been for Conan, he's a hit on Hulu. NBC knows that in dealing with Conan they're dealing with a young audience that likes to watch stuff on the Internet. Even though most of us here watch him at 11:35pm every night, that clearly isn't the case with everyone else. Comparing Conan's nightly ratings with his online viewership you can see where people are watching him.

Conan's monologue is the best thing about his show as its always been, his skits are still pretty good, can never be as good as at 12:35, however its seems to me his interviews have taken a huge drop, he's too pg with his guests, even with guests that he knows pretty well, it seems like he's way to eager to plug whatever crap the guest is promoting, that would be my sole complain. The rest is as good as its always been and by far the best of the late night shows. (Daily Show excluded).

PS. Missing Max, he's been leaving more often. :(

True, but every now and then he hits a home run. Last night's interview with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird was great. And tonight is Jim Carrey, so that should be good.

i do agree that his interview's arent as good as they were in 1235. monologues's the same for me as is the skits, but the interview has matured a bit too much, feels pretty generic most of the time. i always used to think that guest would come on leno to pitch and be professional, and they come on conan more as the buddy drinking beer. looks like it's the time slot.

yeh exactly...I remember when Kelsey Grammer came on Late Night back in the day with the Walker Texas Ranger Lever, and Conan would just randomly pull it in the middle of the interview. And then Grammer said that he watches Conan every night but only for the monologue...haha, that killed
