10 Blade 2 2002: various fights

some i'm not sure about, other i'm not surprised are on the list even del toro hates the cgi in blade 2, and legend was panned from the get go

Worst list ever.

Also at Harry Potter.....:lmao:

This was big budgeted movies with good CGI at that time. I just don't understand the list. B**** about King Kong back in the 30's with the lame claymation then.

My thoughts exactly. Spider-man may not have had the best all time CGI,but the worst?
That scene where he dodges the razor-bats in the burning building?

100% CGI.

That **** was cutting-edge.

That's what it's called in th U.K. and in Canada...Also...That's what the book was originally called...!

I heard that the mpaa or whatever...Americans did not feel that "philosopher's" had anything to do with witchcraft or wizardry...So they changed it...

Honestly, what was America's reason for changing it?

^...That's why...I think...

I'm remember seeing that in theaters opening night, it was amazing. :wow: :applaud

Why aren't movies like the incredible and amazing Transmorphers with it's spectacular effects on the list :whatever:

Knocks Spielberg out of the park if you ask me...:hehe:

Per Wikipedia:

"The book was retitled to Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone for publication in the United States. The main reason for this retitle was that the U.S. publishers thought that a child would not want to read a book that sounded as though it was associated with philosophy.

JK Rowling gives this explanation:

Arthur Levine, my American editor, and I decided that words should be altered only where we felt they would be incomprehensible, even in context, to an American reader... The title change was Arthur's idea initially, because he felt that the British title gave a misleading idea of the subject matter. In England, we discussed several alternative titles and Sorcerer's Stone was my idea."

I expected better from I Am Legend. I still don't see why they didn't use practical effects it would've been light years cheaper. Still liked the movie though.

George Lucas' Star Wars OT re-edits. It just doesn't gel with the old effects whatsoever. Richard Donner had the right idea with Superman II: TRDC.

Arnie's CGI'ed head in Total Recall. Horrible, but forgivable, it was 1990 and they had no time to finish it.

It all looks really bad..in regards to the Sandman forming for the First time in Spider-Man 3.

I think that early movies with CG should get a bit of a pass. The tech was still very new in the early 90's.

So as bad as the CG was in Spawn, I have to give them credit for trying.
as for contemporary movies with suck CG
I am Legend
Spider-man 1,2,3
Cloverfield
Fantastic Four
Star Wars episode 1 and 2
matrix 2 and 3
and more as I think of them
Kindof sortof agree with I am Legend. Maybe parts of spiderman series. I disagree with Cloverfield. FF4,some parts of it were badly done..SWII for sure, the arena scene monsters,blah..Matrix 2 mainly the '100 smiths' sequence..
Blade II;fight scene in Blade's lair w/two vamps.
Sound of Thunder
Starship Troopers III
T3 some cgi sequences were bleh too me.
The Core, some scenes were tad weak(lighting blast in Rome).
Spawn;ya older tech, but still kindof bleh.
There are other bad CGI moments in movies, just can't think of anything. I just think we have to seperate bad CGI,from just bad movies..

...And in Canada...They changed the title in the U.S. only I think...
Yeah, that confused me the most about the film. For a while, I actually thought they were two different films:oldrazz:

Wow...this thread has gotten progressively stupider.

I don't know how you could put ROTK on that list. Some of the other choices may not have been the best either, but there were certainly worse displays of CGI that I've seen onscreen.

Ones they got right:

Die Another Day - surf scene (this should probably be at the top of the list)
I am legend - zombies
Star Wars: A New Hope 1997 -young jabba

Ones that SHOULD be on the list:

DAREDEVIL
Ang Lee's Hulk
The Mummy Returns - end battle with the cartoon Scorpion King
The Matrix Reloaded - Multiple Smith battle
Lost in Space

A few more...

Gone in 60 Seconds - the Evel Knievel car jump at the end

Charlies Angels: Full Throttle - entire film

Driven - entire film

The Transporter 2 - toss up between the "flip over car and catch bomb on crane hook" scene and the "cartoon plane crash" scene

Snakes on a Plane - entire film

In The first Harry Potter do the characters call it the philosopher's stone in other countries or do they call it the sorcerers stone like here in the states? So stupid for the MPAA to do that.
