The Trials of Shazam! #11
"It's the same one she used to steal Atlas's power"
...uh, am I missing something, Winick? Atlas' power wasn't stolen. He killed himself and Apollo took over and gave half of his power to Sabina willingly. Please don't tell me you just fcked up your own continuity in your own single miniseries, because that would be hilarious. In a horrible way.
What else to say? It's pretty much as average as prior issues in a miniseries that should have ended months ago. The plot is not horrible, but what's up with Mercury having the same exact shtick as Apollo? That's just not a good idea in a series whose entire storyline depended on coming up with original and interesting ideas for these new gods. Are you finally realizing that you ran out of room for actual story, Judd, by wasting everyone's time with your horrible stock antagonist? Meanwhile, Billy and Freddy's interaction is so unbearably...sterile. It's just there. There's not a single spark of the people they once were, of their past relationship. Shadowpact appears here, for no reason that I can discern other than to exposit some exposition that one would know if, y'know, one read the issue before this issue.
As far as I can tell, issue number twelve still hasn't been solicited. Thanks, guys. Thank you for making this last so long. Truly.
