TRIALS OF SHAZAM! #1
Written by Judd Winick
Art and cover by Howard Porter
Acclaimed writer Judd Winick (OUTSIDERS, GREEN ARROW) redefines the mighty Captain Marvel in a 12-issue maxiseries featuring a stunning new art style for fan-favorite illustrator Howard Porter (THE FLASH, JLA)!
The world is in magical turmoil as Captain Marvel tries to keep everything under control in the aftermath of the events of DAY OF VENGEANCE. And with the rest of the Marvel Family powerless, it's all up to him - unless some drastic changes occur fast. Luckily, everything changes by this issue's end!
On sale August 30 • 1 of 12 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US

IT seems like the writer is trying to rip of Millars style.

Very badass.

I like but I quit buying minis so i'll wait for the trade.

I'll probably buy the trade of this, has Potter changed his style it looks different.

What do you mean? He's been hitting people with his lightning since Kingdom Come.
I'm talking about the monologue.

"To feel the power of the Gods." felt just a tad too high-handed for Billy Batson to me. But that was just my feeling. This is just a preview anyway.

You have to remember, Billy isn't a little kid anymore; I think with OYL, he's pretty much old enough to vote at this point.

Besides, it is true, he does have the power of the Gods.

Everybody at DC needs to start getting that through their heads. Billy, Robin, and all the other "kids" of the DC universe are old enough that they can draw them like adults now. I hate seeing Robin drawn like a little kid everywhere still, and it looks like Porter is doing the same for Billy.

Make mine Marvel!

 to Black Adam in 52#3! Best. Dismemberment. Ever.

I think Porter's got a good handle on Billy. He should be 17. That's how he looks to me.

I would have to agree, with what little scant amount of dialogue we've seen, that it doesn't feel very Billyish. I mean come on, "I wanted these guys to feel it"? Way to make him sound like a rapper, Judd.

Not that it's going to stop me from buying the hell out of this.

looks really cool. I love winick miss him on exiles:(

Wasn't he 17 before OYL? Either way, he still looks like 15 at the oldest to me. I guess he could just be a very underdeveloped 17 or 18, though.
