I absolutely had you pegged for a forum member!
I got some great shots yesterday, and more than a few up close and personal. I showed up at Much before 7 AM and the guards took us (the other two guys waiting as well
) behind the fence to get all the shots we wanted. They even offered to take pics with us next to it!
I was at the mall before 11:00 for the press unveiling, figuring if anything was happening it'd be then. After hanging out and chatting with the hosts for a couple of hours I got the tip-off that the swag was coming out at 5:00 (we'd already noticed the boxes hiding discreetly behind everything).
I came back before 5:00 PM and waited for the swag. The trivia questions were easy so I got a nice little haul. The t-shirts went too quickly,though. I had nowhere pressing to be, so I kept hanging out and chatting. A short while before it was set to close my wife and another friend showed up. That friend is a very attractive girl, so suddenly my statement about the fan-girl I was trying to get a shirt for took on a new depth.
Suffice to say, being friendly and still respectful paid off when one of the folks working the gig slipped us in for a small photo-op. No touching, but it was more than close enough. I couldn't resist fitting in a shot for kicks.

I had a great day yesterday, and I'm going to try and pick up a little more swag if possible today. It's all going to good homes amongst fans I know, but I also balanced the scales a little by feeding answers to kids and other people around me for the trivia. One couple even tried to pay me to get them a movie!
I turned down the cash and fed them an answer. Less than a minute later they had their movie. Big grins on all sides.
Anyways, time to get to work now... more pics later.
