The Dark Knight The Tumbler and Bat-Pod is on tour!

So they were in Cleveland yesterday and supposedly they're in the Baltimore/DC area today. Since there are no other cities listed that are south of DC, I have to assume that they'll work their way up the east coast, so Philly might be next. The only update I've heard is that they'll be in Niagara Falls this coming Sunday. It's frustrating not being able to find any updates. I'm in the Philly area and I really don't want to miss this.
Source? Assuming Niagara leads to Toronto (or vice versa) I'd be curious to find out more on this.

The guy mentions the official site as his source though, and I can't find this piece of info on it. Hope he just didn't make it up. And hope all the fans who want to see it (them) will be able to find out about the times and places for their cities.

I sure hope we find out about Toronto before it's too late.

Maybe he copied/pasted that whole comment from wherever and accidentally copied the official site link with it.

Batpod in Philly today!!!!!!!! I didn't find out until 11 am, but the Batpod(I didn't see the tumbler) was at City Hall in Philly today from 9 to 12. I drove an hour to get ther in time but they were packing it away when I finally parked(illegally). I asked them where they're going next....he said The IMAX theater in King of Prussia. They'll be there I'm guessing 'till 3 or 4pm. I forgot to ask cause I saw a parking authority a-hole eyeing my car.

BATPOD @KING OF PRUSSIA IMAX, on Mall BLVD

I posted this from a computer @ the Phila Library and I'm leaving for KOP now.

I'm still pissed this wasn't advertised. Hope to see Philly peeps there!

I'm gone

Has anyone (someone mentioned it before) got ANY details of a Europe tour? Please?

Actually, thinking about it, it would be kind of impossible to get the tumbler or batpod shipped to Europe after all of the states mentioned, then back for the premiere. So just forget my last post.

Unlikely. It's only at a very few locations in the US before it goes back to LA for the premiere. So unless they do it after the premiere.....

And for anyone in the Niagara Falls area:

Sunday - July 13th, 2008 - 11am - 3pm - Niagara Falls State Park. See you there!

"The following is a link from the Warner Brothers Canada web site that states the vehicles to include the bat-pod and tumbler would be in Toronto July 10th for three days. Locations in Toronto to see the vehicles will includeCity TV’s: Much Music, Yonge and Dundas Square, Edgefest, and Cineplex Theatres.

There you go fellow Torontonians ;-)

It's a shame the Pod/Tumbler aren't coming to the UK, they were designed and built by Brits :)

They might be around for the London premiere on July 21st... Just like the Batman Begins premiere from 2005. I hope so anyway, cause I'll be in London on that day.

So there were 6 Batpods built and about 4 Tumblers built for the last movie. And I'm sure they shot Batpod/Tumbler footage in the UK for TDK. i don't see why there wouldn't be at least one of each of the vehicles still on that side of the pond.

So I got to see the Batpod today in King of Prussia and took lots of pics. The handlers, Moses and Darren/Darryl? were very cool guys, but i think Moses was getting annoyed at me hanging around so much. Anyway, he told me this much, but this is all I know...The Batpod(and maybe The Tumbler, Moses wasn't sure) will be in Revere, Maryland tomorrow, July 9th/10AM @ "The National Amusement Showcase"

Sure you don't mean Revere, Massachusetts? I cannot find Revere, Maryland on a map, but I know where Revere, MA is (near Boston).

Awesome, thanks! I bet they just sold the second and third tickets to Edgefest with that news too!

So for Toronto, can confirm:

To speculate for MuchMusic, I'd imagine they'll have something for it on Much On Demand on Thursday or Friday (5pm EST daily) over at 299 Queens St West (and John St). Yonge & Dundas Square would probably be the same day since it's like 5 minutes from eachother.

Now to hopefully not miss the damn things!

Press Release: BATMAN'S NEW BAT-POD, FEATURED IN "THE DARK KNIGHT," WHEELS OUT ON A FOURTEEN-CITY TOUR
Burbank, California - June 27, 2008 - Audiences eagerly anticipating the release of Warner Bros. Pictures' "The Dark Knight" won't have to wait for the film's July 18th release date to see Batman's newest "ride." The Bat-Pod, Batman's latest vehicle, will be taking to the road for a 14-city North American tour, beginning Monday, June 30, 2008.

The Bat-Pod tour will take it to markets from coast to coast, including Phoenix ; Denver ; St. Louis ; Cleveland ; Kansas City ; Cincinnati ; Washington . DC; Philadelphia ; Boston ; Toronto ; Niagara Falls , NY ; New York City ; and Chicago , with the tour culminating in Los Angeles on the film's opening weekend.

As an added bonus, in seven of the fourteen tour markets the Batmobile-nicknamed the Tumbler, first seen in "Batman Begins-will be on display alongside the Bat-Pod.

The Bat-Pod's cross-country tour will be highlighted by appearances at several special events: the World Premiere of "The Dark Knight" on Monday, July 14th in New York City; The Dark Knight Gala, honoring filmmaker Christopher Nolan, hosted by the Chicago International Film Festival on Wednesday, July 16th; and the much-anticipated opening weekend/week of the film, when the Bat-Pod will be on display at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, California.

Created by the same team that was responsible for the Tumbler, the Bat-Pod was designed by production designer Nathan Crowley and director Christopher Nolan, and brought to life by special effects supervisor Chris Corbould and his crew. The Bat-Pod is a high-powered, heavily armed two-wheeled machine that is fast and maneuverable on city streets, but also capable of handling all terrains. It has the same monster truck tires as those found on the Batmobile and is self-standing, meaning it does not require a foot stand. Well outfitted for hostile situations, it is equipped with weapons on both sides: 40mm blast cannons, 50-caliber machine guns, and grappling hook launchers.

Just emailed Toronto tourism regarding specific times, they say:

"Hello,

We do not have a listing of times of when the Batpod and Tumbler will be making appearances in Toronto. You can call CityTV at (416) 591-5757, as well at the Yonge Dundas Square at 416-979-9960."

Found the press release finally:

So, wait. The Tumbler will only be at 7 of the 14 locations? What the hell? I hope that's wrong. Because I'm gonna be pissed if it isn't in Niagara Falls.
