Well, I'll put up spioiler tags for anyone else who doesn't want to get spoiled:

The title of the arc is date night, and shows how all the X-Men are taking the night off.

Colossus and Nightcrawler: Both go to check on Dazzler as she's still in the hospital from Deathstrike's attack. When they get there, Kurt confesses that he thought that Ali would be the one girl at the mansion to pick the demon over the Angel. Piotr tries comforting him, but when a nurse comes in, Kurt has to quickly bamf them into a nearby closet to hide, and are stuck there for awhile because the nurse sticks around for a bit.

Kitty: Fights bad guys with Spiderman, and is barely seen in the issue. Nothing exciting happens with her.

Scott and Jean: They go to the movies together, but Jean has to give Scott psychic suggestions throughout to get him to put the moves on her. She finally has enough of it and storms out. He confronts her in the parking lot where she says she's sick of having to make all the moves. She's read his mind. She knows he wants her and all that he wants to do to her(only two of which she wouldn't do). She just wants him to be more spontaneous. With that, he sweeps her up into a passionate kiss and ask if that helps. It's a start, she says.

Storm and Wolverine: They spend the night bonding more and wind up at a biker bar shooting pool. Storm is winning, with Logan claiming she's using her powers, when a scuzzball puts the moves on her. When she turns him down, he gets a bit more threatening with his offers, and Logan says maybe he should tell those offers to him. We later see that the two have taken out everyone in the bar and are leaving when they find Sabretooth waiting for them outside.

Iceman and Rogue: The only two stuck at the manor without plans that evening. They begin to bond again over internet cartoons when old flames heat up. Rogue reveals that now that she has Gambit's powers, she's able to touch anyone, anytime she wants. She goes to kiss him, but shows that she doesn't have total control over when she charges up his shirt. The shock causes Bobby's chair to tip over but he manages to ice up before he hits the ground and the shirt explodes. He begins to lament the loss of the clothing article, but she says it just saves her the time of taking it off and pounces.

Xavier: Oh, baldy's gotta date as well tonight. He has a dinner date with a woman who wants to donate a whole lotta money to the school. Her name? Lilandra Neramani, the Majestrix of the Church of Shi'ar Enlightenment. (Didn't really see that one coming)

During all this, we also see a young blond man in his boxers walking through an empty home, presumably his, calling out for his parents, when he comes across them collapsed in a hallway, and wonders what he has done.

Good issue overall. Kirkman seems to have kept just about everything Vaughn has done with their relationships together so far.

Back onto the topic of psylocke (which technically she has yet to be named) joining the team. I think its more realistic for the ultimate x-men to someday have an encounter with S.T.R.I.K.E (the UK version of S.H.I.E.L.D.). As it was mentioned that Besty along with her brother Captain Britain was joining it's superhuman team programme by her father. I recon it could be quite kewl and it could been seen as almost like a Ultimate Excalibur.

I say have Psylocke, Captain Britain, Ultimate Megan, Ultimate Pete Wisdom, and some other brit mutants in there, maybe Moira working for them. It'd kick ass!!!!! RULE BRITIANNIA!!!

Did you miss when Psylocke was already featured in the Ultimate line?

No didn't miss that, but she wasn't part of the Ultimates. Its was sort of a coalition team. The core of the Ultimates remain American citizens and are the Government sponsered super team for the US. STRIKE would the the same for the UK. Naturally though because of US-UK defense agreements they work together, but that doesn't mean we haven't seen the full STRIKE lineup.

Thanks Specter:up:. I don't know about anyone else but I hate what they did with Rogue, they basicaly turn her into
a female Gambit.

i was looking to get rid of my ultimate x-men annual #1 for a very reasonable price. if anybody is interested, please check out the link in my signature... it's worth a look. i also have ultimate x-men #1-3 for those who missed the ultimate origins of our favorite muties. thank you for your time.

God not Rogue and Iceman again-don't make me puke. You would think that with her having gambit in her now she would want someone with charm than lame bobby.

"female" Gambit? - Hardly. Ultimate Gambit was ten times smoother than this preteen floosy (and would have gone after a far more attractive and mature partner than childish Ultimate Bobby. Rogue became basically Ultimate Bobby (or Ultimate Bobby's fantasy)- who's clumsily panted after every girl at some point and threw himself in an almost obessive way at Rogue. Ultimate Rogue regressed about 10 years in mental age for this story from her last appearance in the Annual where she seemed to have a plan and goal that had nothing to do with the X-Men.

I wouldn't mind Rogue's Gambit absorbtion so much if she'd ket her powers as they would have been a preferable alternate to Miss Marvel's. But losing them and immediately hooking up with Bobby's lame ass just feels stupid.

I thought Kurt seemed particularly sweet in this one. And Lilandra's basically a scientologist now it seems. But hey, "Phoenix Rising", right?

Dude, we've seen Ultimate Meggan. She's like, six.

This might be a dumb question, but in the latest issue, who's the guy who woke up in the empty house and found his parents dead? Why did he automatically assume he was responsible? *squeekness is confused*

I think that what's really happening with Rogue's powers is similar to what happened when Danvers was in control in the 616. Carol could control them, but Rogue couldn't. Here, Rogue has imprinted someone else, which means that they are now a part of her. So Gambit is really controlling her powers, but she is just assuming that they are gone.

And think about it. If you were Rogue and suddenly discovered that you could, indeed, touch people, would you not throw yourself at the first thing that you knew would have sex with you?

It might be better if the art didn't make Bobby look like an eight year old.

We don't know yet.

Okay. :) I thought maybe he was some Ultimatized regular that I just didn't immediately recognize. *squeekness isn't always that bright* :)

all right, so what do you think the "two things" Cyclops isn't allowed to do to Jean are?

Well, she doesn't strike me as a girl who would want a "back door man" for one.:p

The 8-year old Bobby disturbed me too. He looked like a cross between Dennis the Menace and the youngest brother from Malcolm in the Middle (forgot he's name, it started with a D)

Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of the Bobby/Rogue pairing, but it looks like it's got 'twist' written all over it. It's more of a wait and see thing. Plus Rogue's personality is messed up...so we're not clear yet.

Okay Lilandra we thinking human....or do you think there is a chance she's an alien?

The only writers who could pull off interesting down-time X-Men issues were Scott Lobdell and CC.

Dewey

And I'm telling you, it's not really Rogue that's all over Bobby. It's Gambit.

You know the minute someone more interesting comes along rogue is dumping his ass.I mean ultimate rogue has turned into the rogue she would be if there was no gambit and she could control her powers(don't get me wrong I love her character),you know now she has gambit mixed in with her own personality she will get around.

So I'm not the only one who thinks Bobby looks like he still has his baby teeth? Well, here's hoping the story gets better.
