Comics The Ultimate X-MEN Thread

That Phoenix explanation was dumb, I thought the Ultimate Universe was soposed to be more realistic.

That might not be the true reason why the phoenix is on earth though

It is just a religion.

its not meant to be taken for truth necessarily. The Shi'ar are like a cult and have their cultish beliefs. They seemed sort of like Scientologists to me.

Cannonball, Sunspot, and Magik already appeared. Magik didn't have her powers though.

hmm...thanks. I don't remember them at all. I'll have to go back and seee where they show up.

I just checked and Multiple Man and Karma have also been used.

I still don't remember Illyana, but I believe you :D

Hey guys, I am only new to Ultimate X Men (just bought issues #1 - #62 last week from a friend)

So far I have really enjoyed it, especially like that they are implying that colossus is gay... I have only read about 35 issues so far - i am up to Blockbuster..Do they confirm that he is infact gay at any stage later in the series...???

Also, one other question, I didnt get the Ulimate Annual... is it reuired reading to follow the Ultimate storylines, and if so, which issue does it follow??

yeah he come out of the closet at the end of the magnetic north story arc, and yes you should pick up the Ultimate X-men annual if you want to know why Rogue is the way she is now.

thats really cool that he offically came out.. If only they could get tha enormous hunk of sex, Dan Cudmore to have his movie Colossus gay...

Cool, just got the annual from eBay (hopefully be delivered wihin the next week or so)... which issue does it follow..!?

I dont know exactly, but I think right before the magnetic north story arc.

so is sabertooth really logan's son, or was he lying?

I hope he was lying ...! The lack of convoluted family trees was one of the things I loved about the Ultimate universe. I just hope this doesn't open the door to future alternate timeline children ...

ugh!

I'm pretty sure he was lying. It was implied in the last scene with Cornelius that it was siad to provoke Logan and keep him off balance. :)

I'm on the fence. It seems as if he was just lying, but looking at his facial expressions on the last page begs the question on whether he was really lying or not.

Well, hopefully they won't make us wait too long to find out for sure. :)

I'm pretty sure he was lying too, since the true motive for the whole thing just seemed to be so that he could get a hunk of flesh so they could start their cloning business.

I'm not so sure. In fact I'm pretty sure he WAS telling the truth. It feels like a double-fakeout to me. Why didnt he tell Cornelius what he said to Logan?

She has Gambit's personality now. He likes women, so now Rogue is after guys.

That explanation might work if U Bobby was a guy and not an obssessive silly brat. I would imagine U Rogue would now have much better taste than him if it's Gambit's personality affecting her. You'd think she could find more interesting and fun guys, and I'm still clueless as to why she'd come back the X-Men at all. I hope it's a scam she and head Gambit have worked up. I'd love U Rogue to be a thief that pops in and out the X-Men's lives. Vaughn wrote a really motivated and interesting character in the Annual than what Kirkman has given us. She'd be far more interesting than the flakey girl **** she appears to be at the moment.

The annual follows the "Cry Wolf" story arc, after Rogue runs away with Gambit...

And you just got issues 1-60??? Lucky, I am missing the early ones. :(

Are you serious? I really liked that explanation, I thought it was unique and interesting.

Are they? I haven't heard that before.

Who's to say that Lilandra isn't just a nut? The whole Phoenix thing has long been shrouded in question, much like Ultimate Thor, maybe this whole thing will remain a mystery indefinitely.

This pisses me off so much.

The entire point of Ultimate X-Men was to translate the 616 X-Men into a new reality where the characters we knew became something different. Why are they (potentially)creating original characters or bringing in new and CRAPPY 616 characters when there are so many other characters out there left to introduce that are interesting and have great potential.

Why not use any of the following (forgive me if I mention one that has been in Ultimate, I might have forgotten):

Banshee
Thunderbird I (doesn't anyone want to see what the first 616 X-Men casualty can do in this universe?)
Cable
Bishop (they don't necessarily have to be from the future)
Almost any of the New Mutants
-Cannonball
-Magik (wouldn't that be an interesting dynamic?)
-Sunspot
-Moonstar
-Magma
-Wolfsbane
Jubilee (some people hate her, but why not re-imagine her, that's what this universe is for)
Sunfire (a very unique character that should have always been used more)
Strong Guy
Multiple Man

I'm sure there are more. I just thought of those off the top of my head.

Maybe I'm just complaining, but I think it is too early to start making up original characters or bringing in ones that are still new in the 616 universe, and haven't even really taken shape there yet (like X-23).

Bishop appeared in the 'New Mutants' story arc. He was pictured with several other mutants that Emma and the President wanted for their little plan.
