It's perfectly fair. They're getting an education: someday, the NFL will ultimately screw them over just as much as their college does. :)

Oh Corp:awesome:

The kids get free education... providing they can hit the minimum GPA...

Look at those Va Tech kids last night with those new Nike uniforms. Walking advertisements.

Well, if you're gonna be upset about product placement now, you might as well write off every entertainment industry.

Nike hit gold with that idea...last year they developed new unis and equipment and just gave it to some schools free of charge....now they got people hooked, I hear the equipment is damn good and years ahead of standard equipment and anyone that wants some now has to pay up

I know it'll never happen because of collegiate rules but I'd lovet to see some Carmelo Anthony-esque freshman come out and pull a Jordan on the Dream Team move to hide the conflicting sponsor's logo...

Wow, so it looks like both Alan Scott and Red Tornado got massive power upgrades.

Jade was able to un-evil Alan Scott and he gained control of the new Starheart, which is 100 times more powerful than the old one. It said he is the most powerful human being alive.

Cyborg was able to reprogram the nanobots prometheus used on Roy and basically used them on Red Tornado to make him immortal and have an instant healing factor. Sort of like the early Amazo on JLU.

Kind of cool about Alan Scott, I guess. I doubt it'll last or be acknowledged much outside JLA and JSA, though.

So basically Alan's been reset to the power level he had back in the '90s and early '00s, the last time he gained full control of the Starheart. Eh, it's better than the alternative, I guess.

How about the wood weakness? Still a problem or has he finally conquered that ridiculous nonsense as well?

It didn't come up. The whole time the JSA/JLA attacked his moon base, it never came up. No one even brought a hockey stick.

depending on the school, a good chunk of athlete are there on scholarship...they have a full ride education "in exchange" for playing for the school

plus college athletics are voluntary programs....no one is being "forced" to participate

The NFL pays actual money as measured in for-real US dollars. Meanwhile those scholarships are worth what, 40k a year? And that's before you even work out how many of them don't even get any benefit out of the education since the schools help them cheat their way along just enough to keep their athletic eligibility.

Yes, boo-hoo for the athletes. Meanwhile, teachers are still lucky to scrape together 35k a year in most states. :o

Boo-hoo for teachers, wal-mart employees don't even get 20k! Boo-hoo for wal-mart employees, illegal immigrants get paid in the constant threat of deportation! Boo-hoo for illegal immigrants, Pakistanis get paid in mud and having their hovels flooded! And so on.

And then the millionaires keep laughin' at everyone and lighting cigars with Franklins.

Wal-Mart employees deserve it. Should've worked at Target instead. :oldrazz:

Wow, so Green Lantern #4, which comes out in, what, 4 weeks, is retelling the Martian Manhunter / Green Arrow encounter from last week's Brightest Day. Why is DC trying to get their monthlies to line up with their weeklies again? Did they learn nothing from Countdown?
