What do you mean, like the at the collapse of the civilized world? Probably not, as I'm sure about 95% of the population wouldn't be able to do so. Something like that's probably going to be set off by nuclear war, or at least the use of nuclear weapons anyway, so it's a good possibility we'll all be dead anyway, by that point.

I'm not really sure how that's relevant to what we were talking about, though...

Eh, who knows. Some think so, but a lot of people were saying we wouldn't last ten more years in the '50s and '60s when the Cold War was beginning, too. A lot of people like to think they've figured out the riddle of the future, but we really don't know **** about how humanity is going to ultimately end up unless we have a God's eye view of the future. If it happens that way, it will, if it doesn't, it won't.
