Metalheads are worse than hipsters, and they do the exact same crap sometimes. Metalheads are the only people who'll listen to a Metal song, then complain about how it's too mainstream, how all the new underground bands suck, how new bands try to sound too much one the classic bands, how new bands don't sound enough like classic Metal, and a series of other criticisms that basically boil down to them liking no more than 5 bands who've ever existed.

Eh, every musical subculture is like that. In my experience, anyone who describes themselves as a "metalhead" or "hipster" or whatever is just subconsciously hinting to everyone that they're a total d-bag.

I am both a sports fan and a comic fan, I see the resentment one group has for the other....that thousands of people fill sports arenas every year for events whilst no one reads comics anymore

that athletes get put up on pedastals but no one gives a **** about your Ambush Bug movie

I get it, but this is one of those convenient hypocrisy things

sports is just cooler (socially acceptable)

speaking of derby, the season has kind of started in various places (the UK, Texas, Canada) and next weekend Im going to a bout in NY and our season starts here in CT on March 5th

I used to be one of those soccer is boring types. Sometime around my senior year of high school (2005) I caught an EPL match on ESPN. I was hooked. Sure, sometimes neither team scores and draws are common but there's an excitement to soccer that is undeniable to me. The anticipation, the build up, when you're watching the play develop and you see the player about to score and then you get up out of your seat and he hits the frame of the goal and the player is denied his glory. That is drama. Plus, I'm a baseball fan but most of the time in baseball, guys are just standing around. Non stop running in soccer.
