I prefer mechanical web shooters because it something he designed and made. It really showed that Peter Parker was sort of a whiz kid and a mini genius. The only indication we got of that in the Raimi movies was him raising his hand in class.

I'm pro-organics and can't help but argue with the people who like the mechanical web-shooters just b/c "that's how they were in the comics" even though organics would make way more sense looking at it from a comparative anatomy* viewpoint.

*Very aware that comic book science and actual science are total strangers
