That would be super-cool. Usually I'm not a huge fan of Ellis because I've primarily been exposed to his superhero (i.e. just-for-the-money) work, but I enjoyed Fell.

Its not as good as Nextwave though.

Isn't his Astonishing X-Men well regarded? Nextwave and Ultimate Iron Man are just incredibly fun reads, perhaps i should get the Iron Man reboot comic that Ellis made in 2005 or so too someday. Tho i'd love to see his take on Ultimates. Galactus trilogy was just awesomesauce.

Nextwave was awesome, but it really had no place being brought into 616 continuity. People like Photon, Boomer, and Machine Man were previously established characters, and Ellis' characterizations of them were as inaccurate as they were hilarious. Ellis knew he was writing them wrong for the sake of comedy, which was why he intended for the comic to take place in its own universe. Subsequent writers, however...

Also, I'm going to go against the grain and say that I liked Ultimate Galactus. Great build-up, so-so version of Galactus, good ending.

Nothing Ultimates ever works because we're always comparing it to 616. I'm as guilty of this as any other reader. Truth is, if only new readers read Ultimate stuff and ONLY Ultimate stuff, they might find it more to their liking.

That said, Grand Theft America was utter garbage.

Mom's meeting the guy this week. Flying in from Carolina. North or South doesn't matter to me. The "ceremony" is this weekend. Perfectly good waste of a Sunday in my eyes.

grand theft america wasn't that bad, it was right after that where everything went to pot.

i would advise you to give the guy a bit of a chance though. he might be a raging d-bag, but he might also end up being a pretty decent person. from my understanding your mom seems to like him, so surely it's worth one mealtime to you?

I'd be more open to the matter if it wasn't so...Internet Dating-ish. I'm stone age that way. Besides this guy wants to help my mum with her 2nd start-up business (a food stall of all things...) and I'm kind of...hesistant.

Speaking of which, any G.I Joe fans here? Did anyone catch the Renegades episode with Firefly? I want to know how good/bad he is.
