hey anyone see the trailer for that disney movie the rock did with this little girl in it? looks like a load of crap.

1) That looked AMAZINGLY awful. I can't believe how painful that was.

2) Why is it that every trailer I had with this movie, except for the Cloverfield trailer, was for a dumb comedy? I leaned over to my companion at the end of the trailers and said "Well, apparently Transformers is a comedy now." Of course, I had no idea how right I was. :oldrazz:

A great review. Finally someone who also liked Frenzy! I agree that the Decepticons could have at least at strategized their attack. It would have been awesome to see them meet and talk before attacking. Still, I liked their somber aura of menace.

The other thing is, yes Optimus killing Bonecrusher was awesome but for example, it would have good to see Ratchet use his saw on Brawl. I caught that he had it only on second viewing. Or when Starscream shoots Ironhide, the camera should have been more steady.

The only thing I disagree about is Starscream. He was a traitor. He took the place of one of our pilots then helped them shoot Megatron before running away. That was...well, very traitor-like.

I have been waiting.... and waiting.... and waiting for this movie ever since pre f'in production. I honestly didn't think I would live long enough to see it. But I did! I lived long enough to see it twice!!

I was not let down. Great movie. Being an old school TF fan made it all the better. Hearing Primes voice again was like heaven lol. I will list what I didn't like because outside this short list I thought it was amazing!

The Cons:
- Sucks Jazz died, he was always my second favorite.
- liked the first action scene but for me there was almost to much build up to get to the good stuff after that.
- a lot of the action was zoomed to much in and shaking around to much. I couldnt tell what the F was going on half the time.
- the cube. All the cube did was throw the movie over the edge of "cartoonish". Anything the cube touches and it magically becomes a transformer? come on. I kinda expected more from the script in that dept.
- If they want R. Make it R. I didnt like how they "almost" dropped the F bomb a few times and at times I could tell they were going out of their way to not show humans get demolished. I hope for an unrated "what the F" edition. lol

I give it 8/10. Cant wait for the next.

Fantastic review Blind Fury, although I may not agree with everything you said, I can still say that you were spot on with the review, and I totally respect what you did. Thanks for taking the time to sit down and write this review.

Please, please, please! To all you guys whining about the Decepticons having no lines, except Barricade and Megatron take note:

Starscream had three lines:
The "SS En-Route" line
"We live to serve you Lord Megatron"
When Megs asks for the cube he says "The humans have it"

Frenzy too many to count:
Plenty of lines in Cybertronian.

Blackout had two:
"Black En Route"
"All hail Megatron" at the end of that scene.

Boncrusher: one line:
"Boncrusher rolling"

Regarding Megan Fox. She was not just eye candy. If she wasn't sympathetic her scenes with Shia would've fell flat.

Since I never found her remotely sympathetic, I guess that explains why her scenes with Shia fell flat. :oldrazz:

who would've thought Megan Fox and flat would be in the same sentence :p

I'm going in a couple hours cant effing wait

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. :trans:

Thanks for the honest review blind_fury, glad you liked what parts you did.

Hopefully the sequels will address some of the weaker aspects and parts fans wanted to see more of.

I'm going to go see it after work today. I think the weekend shouldn't be too sold out if most people are running out durnig the week to check it out, so hopefully I can get in this evening.

So an alien must be speaking English, even when he is alone under cover and risk being find out. The logic is impecable.

He was trying to get Sam and was fighting against the humans. That would've been the perfect time to at least throw some insults at them that we can understand. Instead he kept making noises like a Gremlin.

No, he's simply saying that lines of dialogue that are incomprehensible do not count as real lines of dialogue.

Till all are one. :trans:

major kudos for being able to see all the positive elements of the movie. i agree with most of what you said...definitely a flawed film, but a film made with the majority in mind while trying to stay somewhat faithful to the source material. i rated it an 8 because i'm a special effects nut. if i wasn't i probably would've rated it a 7 also...

So foreign films have no dialogue then. Because no language other than English counts. Right. Perfect logic.

Your habit of jumping to asinine conclusions is both amusing and kind of annoying.

No language that doesn't really exist and which is completely imcomprehensible counts. Obviously.

If you can find someone who can accurately translate Frenzy's dialogue in all of his scenes without subtitles, I will concede the point.

The fact is. THEY ARE ALIENS! Why can't alien speak alien! Isn't that logic??

They can. Makes perfect sense for them to do so.

But when people say "I wish they had more lines of dialogue" and someone replies with "Frenzy was talking all the time," no, that doesn't count as dialogue. It's basically a sound effect. We want lines of dialogue because we want to see more personality, learn more about the characters. You tell me what you can decipher from Frenzy's non-stop clicking, we'll talk. Until then, it's not a valid argument to say that Frenzy has tons of dialogue. He doesn't.

Your argument isn't valid. Frenzy lots of dialogue in his tongue. The fact that the language is fictional doesn't change that.

i consider subtitles the same as dialogue. if a character is speaking in a foreign/alien language it still shows their personality. it's not like i saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (before it got an American release) and couldn't get a feeling of Li Mu Bai's personality just because i was reading subtitles.

saying subtitles don't add to a character's personality is like saying a character who speaks a foreign language doesn't have any character development.

^I have to agree with Dorky. The Star Wars movies are all perfecte examples. Half the charcters speak in their native tongue and you got their personality traits for the most part.

I agree with you. I consider subtitles to count as dialogue too. You'll notice that no one made the argument that the subtitled lines don't count, because they do.

But my point is that non-subtitled, completely untranslatable lines of dialogue written in a made-up tongue DO NOT COUNT, because I can't glean any information from them. No one can.

the clicking and sound effects that Frenzy was doing that wasn't accompanied by subtitles were just a way to give the character uniqueness, similar to the way Davy Jones made the bubble popping sound with his lips or Gollum coughing his own name...i didn't take the clicks and sound effects as Frenzy trying to actually say something...
