I am so glad some films like to have fun. Its a balance you get the serious good films and the popcorn good films. Im happy TF turned out the way it did. I had fun in the theater. Honestly, movies like 300 were good, but I just sat on my ass in the theater. A movie like TF had me laughing, awwing, clapping, cheering, and not just me.

It wasnt perfect and no film is. But it was a good movie. Some folk on here should make movies since they seem to know what makes a good film.

No you're saying that to be stupid. That's a ridiculous statement. I mean come one for god's sake, the animated Transformers movie had Spike in a ****ing robotic space suit, please, get over it. It had some comedic elements. OMG! It's not serious enough! Get over yourself, please.

If you've seen the movie you'd know it's not a ridiculous statement. The movie lingering on Splinter's torture and possible death (the campfire scene) and showing some true emotional impact when Raphael is beaten to near-death (compare that to Jazz's death not to mention Bumblebee's... um... torture) stomps this Transformers movie big-time. But, yeah, it wasn't about giant robots from space.

8/10

Great Bay movie, but still a Bay movie. It was fun, awesome and funny. But some of the plot holes are really jarring and some of the humor is cringeworthy upon second viewing.

It is true to the Transformers name being an overblown but awesome commercial. Which is more or less what it has always been, or the very least what it started out being.

hopefully a sequel will make it more than this. But the movie was still really cool and enjoyable.

Not the be all end all of Summer action pics though, like some people are making it out to be. But the Special Effects praise is definetly warranted. No competition for the oscar this year.

I agree. The action, CGI, and acting all turned out much better than I'd expected. Overall, I had a blast watching the movie, and I was really impressed with it. I did roll my eyes constantly, as the story (such as it was) progressed. Next time I'll try to remember to leave my brain at the door of the theater before going in. And also, I walked out of the movie wanting to buy a GMC truck and join the Air Force. A bit too much advertising for my taste...but then again, I'm the type who changes channels or radio stations as soon as commercial break starts.

After seeing this movie, I want a yellow camero with the license plate reading, "BMBLBEE"

:woot:

Saw it cant sleep on it. This is what I've been waiting all summer for. BEST FREAKING MOVIE THIS SUMMER!!!! Hands down. This is how you make a crowd pleaser people. I'm sorry but Transformers makes Spider-Man 3 Seem like sh1t in comparison. Shia Lebouf is waaaaaaaay more of a Peter Parker than Maguire could ever be. He's a great actor man. Megan Fox proved herself aswell. Honestly every actor gets a standing ovation with me. Tyrese, Duhamel, Rachel Taylor, and the most humurous Anthony Anderson all had kick ass parts. Peter Cullens voice was so commanding and brought Optimus Prime to life. Hugo as Megatron was very intimidating and scary. The special FX are the best I've seen. Great damn movie folks..............GO SEE IT NOW!!!!!

I have seen it twice...they showed it on base for only 3 dollars as Transformers wont be shown in Japan until August...I couldnt wait that long
This was the best movie of the summer for me.:trans:

They did say the Goverment covered it up didn't they? Or did I hear wrong?

In the script i believe they did, but in the movie i only remember hearing about S7 being closed, and the disposal of the dead Decepticons.

It would be a bit difficult to cover the whole incident up, wouldn't it? The public probably knows now of them, but the Transformers keep a low profile because the humans aren't used to the thought of having giant robos roaming around.

Especially after they carried their war to one of their cities.

And then again there's only four of them now, so it's not like there's a massive amount scouring the globe. Save that for the sequel.

The Movie Kicked Some Serious Ass!!! Best Film This Summer Next To Die Hard 4, Baby!

Because a space suit with robotic elements is unrealistic? When were you born? At the same time as Superman?

It is when it's a teenage kid hanging out with transforming giant robots. You want to get snarky with me? You will lose.

The time is nigh! At last, in about 3 hours I'm finally gonna get to see this sucker. And I've managed to remain pretty much spoiler free!

I'm so stoked, I know it's gonna be all kinds of kickass.

I own the movie, and I can tell you once again, you're being ridiculous. Fine, you don't like Transformers, but don't go out of your way to make such frivolous claims to support your stance.

I second CFlash, therefore the claims are not frivolous. :woot:

I just think Transformers could have used a couple of less scenes of peeing bots and nose-picking indian outsource guy and a little more seriousness. Not a lot, but something. My point is that at the very least it could have been as serious as the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

You're talking about scenes that probably make up 15-20 minutes of a 2 hour plus movie. Again, it's not a big deal. Get over it.

I'm really glad Michael Clark Duncan, and Dane Cook didn't make it into this movie. If you think it was loaded with cheese, as it is now, man........

Before the moustached cop that interrogated Shia was revealed, from the back I thought it was gonna be Dane Cook.

Cheese???? WTF.........Has anyone seen SM3!

I posted this in the humor thread... but seems fitting here as a response:

SOME of the humor was perfect... like the Bumblebee and Sam interaction, the car dealership, the radio thing, Sam being chased by Bumblebee, etc etc. Almost everything delivered by Shia was believable.

The house backyard/masterbation scene wasn't all bad except it dragged on waaaayyy too long. When Sam said "that's not being in disguise" when the bots were innocently all vehicles in his backyard was hilarious. Perfect. But then I expected to see them driving around the block complaining or something.... not the ******ed scene that could have been in Airplaine! or Epic Movie or some crap.

For me the movie ended with the zany Crackhead Frenzy infiltration scenes. At that point I knew the filmmakers set out to make something worse than the source material called for.

In other words, they kept taking stuff too far. I expected charming humor... but I wasn't expecting Transformers to be zany.

Like I mentioned before, the Spielberg influences in this movie were Bumblebee, Frenzy, and the mom making all those goofy remarks. Frenzy had to be a Spielberg creation, what with the manic ADD persona and weird yammering in the native tongue. He even broke the fourth wall once and looked directly into the camera.
