The very first time you used the internet - do you remembah?

It was either '94 or '95. My dad bought our first computer with windows 3.1 and we used compuserve or compunet as our provider.

Here's the really sad part....That was a 56K mpdem that had to step back to 48.8k....and I know that because I used to listen to modems dialing out all the time....

The library and visiting Bianca.com. I'm sure my X-wife would say that was the beginning of the end....

i've heard of that site, but i dont remember what it was.

It was one of the earliest message boards around. It had a place for grownups to chat about stuff.....

> ; )

I first used the internet in 1998. My first e-mail was as a college freshman. I had no idea how to use it either time, making me look like a total doofus.

I have come to accept that title.

I first used the internet when I was in 5th grade and the internet was still a baby at that time. This one b*** named Sasha was sighing because I was taking so long to figure it out because her parents got her a computer with the net on it.:cmad::whatever:

I don't remember when, exactly...but it was probably around 4th or 5th grade. I was printing out pics of weapons from Men in Black, being both enamored by the film and with the concept that I could even find and print those images in the first place.

1999, high school library. The first site I ever went to was for, of all things, No Limit Records.

My first time was around 1995. I remember mostly because Windows 95 just came out. My dad cussed everytime I logged onto AOL back then when he got his credit card bill. Had to pay by the minute back then.

We got our first computer in 97. I bought a sonic the hedgehog game for it. In 98 we got AOL dial up internet. First I went to the WWF website. Then Star Wars. Then Indiana Jones.

A friend of mine got a computer and I went over to his house. He signed into a lesbian chat room and started talking dirty to lesbians, pretending to be one, of course. He couldn't get over how many hot chicks were sending him pictures and talking dirty, thinking he was a girl...when I remarked that I was fairly certain that every single person in the room was a man pretending to be a girl and all of them getting turned on about it. I left thinking that this internet thing was pretty stupid.

I remember when our school first got the internet, boy was that hell to tell a story. Everything we weren't supposed to be looking at, we were. Our teacher had an emotional breakdown because we would never listen to him. Chat rooms, dirty pics, talking dirty on message boards, you name it. Lets not even bring up Kazaa or Morpheus

It would have been some time in 1997 i don't remember what exactly I was surfin back then, a lot of star wars though. I also remember my brother printing off a lot of porn, which is funny since he would have been like 11 at the time lol.

What was the first thing you ever illegally downloaded?

I remember waiting for ever for songs to download on napster and even longer for them to burn to disc on this external burner that my cousins had. I actually still have one of those original burnt cds

I remember discovering MAME. Some dude in my class told me about it and I was like, "a site where you can download classic arcade games AND play them on the computer you got?" :awesome: The legal implications I chose to ignore.

I remember discovering MAME and ZSNES, once I found out MAME could play the X-MEN 4 player arcade game, it was on and poppin. I downloaded that plus every DBZ game that was made for the snes. :awesome:

They had ZSNES on my high school computers. Someone downloaded it and a ton of games, then tucked them all away in a password protected section of the school's server. The password got around, of course.

ive never heard of MAME or ZSNES til just now

the first P2P program i ever got i think was Kazaa or Winmx. haha i didn't even know it was illegal at the time.

the first things i remember looking up on the internet? Ma$e, Usher and Bad Boy Music :shame:

it wasn't long after that that I found X-Men fansites, fanfics, then ultimately the hype.

remember any of these gems?:

*geocities
*angelfire
*tripod
*excite
etc

In the mid-90's I'd always be hearing talk of somthing called AOL and Internet which I didn't know what the hell they were and in comics like Marvel they had in very small print their website of Marvel.Com which really didn't register.

It wasn't actually until we got a computer in 2001 that I felt like I had entered a whole new world of new discoveries........................................the porn came later.
