Though this is a little personal, I don't mind sharing since more than a few have communicated with me for advice in PMs. I waited until I was 20. Flat out, HS is to young. It was for me, and I observed none who had sex in my high school were mature enough to do it. Most I know now who didn't wait wish they had. Some didn't feel that way until they met me and heard about my experience.

I wasn't waiting for "the one", and didn't necessarily need to be in love. It just didn't feel right with any of the girls I was with before. Sometimes I knew that they would regret it with me, so I backed out. Others, I didn't want to complicate my relationship with them. I've ended up experienced, but still get to say that I've only ever been with two women. Right now, it's looking like that will be my final number. Very happy.

i lost mine when i was 21 to the women who is now my wife, and she is still the only person i have had sex with, now, dont get me wrong, i had plenty of chances before i dated her and since we started dating, but i also when through a phase where a girl who i could have had sex with, moved on after me and got pregnant with the very next guy she went out with. there were like 3-4 girls in a row that that happened to. so part of me is glad that i am not a baby-daddy to 3 kids from different mothers, but part of me does wonder what it would have been like to lose my virginity to one of them

The purity ring, promising to your father in front of the church, etc was a different kind of tactic the churched used on the teens of the 90s, having realized "just don't do it, because it's a sin and God hates sinners" wasn't working.

It was/is a form of guilt tripping. Sadly, the best way to go about that "tactic" is to be close with your children, raise them to your best ability, and teach he or she a REAL philosophy they can wrap their head around.

I knew - still know - a man who took his daughter out once a week, even called it date night. They would do whatever she wanted, within reason. Most of the time it was dinner and a movie/mini-golf/shopping, etc. All the father did was spend time with his daughter, let her char away, try on shoes, sit through whatever flick she wanted and so on. When he got the chance, espeicially as she got older, he would talk to her about guys she liked, what the guy was like (play football, chorus, mathlete, whatever). He never mentioned sex, or sex education.

Around 16/17 she started bringing guys home. Funny enough, the guys were similar to her father. Guys she could just hang out with, have a laugh, go see a movie, etc. She was formed - if you will - to have date nights to be similar to what she did with her dad since a small girl. She never even thought "let's be alone in my room," because she'd rather just be close friends with the opposite sex, a guy she was attracted to.


The cool thing is/was her father is a minister and never demanded any type of promise from her. He created a "promise" in her that she made with herself.

Dunno. . just always thought that was a really cool way about spearing heading sex ed.

I hate my sex drive. I had..I lost my virgin status at 22..one night stand..regretful ugh. If I had a low sex drive, I would be better off. I felt I was pressured by society.
