The Virtual Reality Thread: Bye, Bye Real Life

Just seen this thread. Is anyone here planning on jumping in with VR any time soon? I'm not until I hear good things about it from others so I look forward to hearing anyone's views here.

Just like most new technologies i'm going to wait until the price gets cheaper and the technology further prevents itself.

I think of the current Oculus Rift and the Playstation VR as the original iPhone, and i'm waiting for the 4S version of their VR products till i'm fully committed to VR.

I'm going to wait awhile on it to see how it actually is. I'm still super skeptical of VR as a viable concept.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like you guys are generally in the same boat as me on this. Maybe E3 will give us some good info on it this year.

Glad there's a ton of VR-ready games for the Oculus and PS VR come launch and beyond it's cycle, one of the key ingredients for product longevity is tons of content.

Let's hope this said "Content" is good tho. :o

I ended up choosing Oculus. I'm not that into the full body motion control and I prefer the Oculus controllers over the Vive's wands. Also, the one other thing is I didn't like even one of the Vive launch titles...but with Oculus there are a few I want and I can even play Alien Isolation thanks to a mod.

Nice, enjoy the virtual world mate, and all its wonders. :woot::up:

I will!

ugh...when I get it in freaking JULY. I'm backordered. sigh

So, I ended up going with the Vive after further research. Ended up cancelling my Oculus order. Got an email saying my Vive would arrive in May. No exact date of course.

After a brief introduction of Sword Art Online: The Beginning, we get to see some in-game footage starting at the 1:50 mark, after the player’s body has been scanned and made into an avatar for the game. You can see how they do simple actions like walking and interacting with other players while fighting boss together as a party.

You can read more about the project in our earlier report.
