The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 will likely have a different story
Published 1 min ago. 0 comments.

Tidbits from this week's Dengeki PlayStation.
TWTHK-Interview_05-12-15.jpg

Dengeki PlayStation this week features an interview with Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa and The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival director Tomoya Asano, who discuss the lack of a PS Vita version, the game’s new elements, and the newly confirmed sequel.
Get the quotes below.
Regarding The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival Not Being on PS Vita
Niikawa: “Actually, we tested it with Vita and PS4. For Vita, it became clear that there was a considerable amount of labor required, resulting in processing slowdowns and other such problems. But it went well on PS4, so we decided on that.”
New Controls and Elements
Asano: “Players can now control Metallia. And because the button layout has changed, we’re rethinking the control environment. There’s also touchpad support. Also, in the previous game, you could only equip a 1-pattern weapon, but now there’s three slots.”
Regarding The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2
Niikawa: “Specifics have not been decided, but since Metallia’s story is fully completed, we’re thinking about a different story. As for Revival, I want to incorporate fan requests and feedback as much as possible.”
Is The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 for PlayStation 4?
Niikawa: “Revival is for PlayStation 4, so we are planning to release 2 in that manner, as well.”
The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on September 2.
Thanks, Hachima Kikou.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival Videos Shows Its Action On PlayStation 4. June 3, 2015 . 2:33am

Check out more gameplay footage from the upcoming PlayStation 4 port of the game.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival
is an enhanced version of the first game by Nippon Ichi. While it adds various new features and a new mode, most of the game is still the same as far as gameplay goes. The latest videos show what some of the basic action looks like on PlayStation 4.

The first video demonstrates a look at what’s like to set up weapons, and switch through them in combat as the Hundred Knight. Different weapons can be strategically equipped to fit various situations. This system is also known as the Tactical Conversion System, which allows you to equip up to five weapons and choose what order they attack in.
[YT]https://youtu.be/BJ94v4rF_Co[/YT]

The Hundred Knight might look pretty cute, but he has some brutal abilities. By using “Giga Calories” in the game, you can perform special attacks with the Hundred Knight, and you get these Giga Calories by eating enemies.
[YT]LTz5JBuKkgY[/YT]

The third video is basically a short summary of the action you can do in The Witch and the Hundred Knight. There are also other abilities like the Mystical Dodge to slow down time and make a last second evasion, and the Extra Chain, which lets you teleport to the nearest enemy after defeating one.

Additionally, The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival will have a new mode where you get to play as Metallia and go around destroying enemies with her weapon and powerful magic. You can check out our earlier report to get a first look at how she plays.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival will release in Japan on September 25, 2015 for PlayStation 4.

[YT]Uw7QS5KYc_0[/YT]

The latest trailer shows more of Metallia in action, starting at the 1:45 mark, and it’s followed by a brief look at the Phantom Tower dungeon and a new scenario. You can enter this dungeon by offering a weapon that’s in your inventory.

Depending on the strength of your weapon, it’ll influence how strong the monsters inside are, so it’s basically scaled by the type of weapon you offer. Monsters in here drop something called “Concentration Mana,” which can then be used to temporarily summon and control Metallia.

Metallia can be summoned in the Phantom Tower, but The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival will also have a new mode where you play as Metallia, and you can fully use her powerful magic and weapon to wipe the floor with monsters.

To get a better look at what the PlayStation 4 version of the game is like, check out our earlier report with trailers showing some of the game’s main systems like the Tactical Conversion System and Giga Calories.
