For my two cents, I just wish guys would come out and admit to it. Don't try to couch it with BS like historical accuracy or staying true to her Amazonian rootsI guess I have a hard believing it's all about "traditionalism" from some folks and not really about seeing lots of flesh.
Yeah, I'd like that too. It's modern and IMO it's also sexy, but more suited to the times of today.Yeah, that works better. It's a very nice costume, if she wore something like that, I'd be perfectly happy. They even gave her straps, awesome.

If they want historical accuracy, WW should have one breast. Let's see who wants to go for that lol. Gal Gadot is beautiful she's going to make anything look sexy. Snyder is pretty damn good at costumes and she wont be looking like Vampirella

I think some of you would be surprised about how many things fanboys only care about because of tradition.
Myself, I just want something resembling the basic color scheme, the classic elements, and the big "W" on her chest. I don't even care if it looks like a bustier, really, I just don't want a weensy little "W".
Pants, leggings, battle-skirt...whatever looks good and works with the rest of the concept.
^ TBH, I think people act like a female character HAS to be sexy in order to work. And I think sexiness should be a byproduct, and not a main trait. If the male or female is awesome, he/she will have an underlying sexiness that doesn't have to be forced into the narrative.
I do think there's a double standard in the sense a male can have a minor sexy moment and it's forgotten about, but it's treated as an event for a female.
I think they should go out of their way to avoid having WW come across as intentionally sexy (I don't think it's possible to make Gal unsexy with her hot voice), because this is essentially the only shot they have at WW having a solo movie. She needs to be sold as a character, and not a sex object.

I can understand that, but the traditional costume is a bit sexist. While I understand the desire to highlight her Amazonian culture, I think it's time the "traditional" look got a bit of an update. Let kids of this new generation become familiar with a costume for Wondy that isn't a bustier and panties.I just want what was traditional. It's as simple as that.
^ The funny thing is that her really old costume had crazy long shorts.![]()

Yeah, if that costume looks like "a girl about to go out on the town" then I want to know what "town" you live in because I've NEVER seen a girl dress like that if she's just "going out."Honestly that doesn't look like a superhero costume or a warrior's armor to me.
It just looks like a girl who's about to go out on the town. The black leggings would be like if Batman or Superman (And I know he does on Earth 2) wore jeans.
If they must use pants and I really hope they don't. Then the Injustice costume is the best bet.

I think pants can work. They just need to be the right material/design.

lol...change the color of those leggings and you have the first pic except with a few stars here and there, Wise.Honestly that doesn't look like a superhero costume or a warrior's armor to me.

The Batman costume that I grew up with is the blue/grey one that looks like it is made of cloth, and yet I acknowledge that it doesn't work for a big-budget live action film. Having favorites is fine, but wanting something "traditional" simply because it IS traditional, purely for nostalgia's sake, regardless of if it fits in context or not, is problematic and is unreasonable.Well no, that's not the reason I like it. It's because the traditional one is the one I grew up with and saw first. Just like Supergirl's movie costume is the one I became most familiar with. Her recent costume with the blue skirt and bare midriff is hotter than Helen Slater's movie costume, but I don't care. It's not what I knew and most associated with the character, so I definitely don't prefer that.
My first impression of WW (via Lynda Carter) was formed before I was even thinking in terms of hotness as I was too young at the time. It's just the way it was for me and her costume wasn't hot or not hot one way or the other. It was just there, and the way I became familiar with it.
Yes, I'd like the battle skirt over the pants because it is more in line with her Amazonian roots, but I prefer her shorts (not high cut bikini bottom but Lynda Carter's length of shorts) over the battle skirt, because that's how WW looks in my mind. A bikini bottom that exposes her ass cheeks like some of the modern interpretations is certainly hotter, but I don't want that over the Carter shorts. I just want what was traditional. It's as simple as that.
If my first impression of WW was of her in pants, then I'd probably want that, but it wasn't, so I don't.
