I often wonder how some people get a job in marketing. You would think that you'd have to have a pretty impressive resume for a movie studio to put a major film production in your hands. And yet, all to often, I hear some of the most pathetic catch phrases of all time in advertisements for movies.
The worst (and probably funniest) one I've ever heard, was in a TV spot for this movie:
"ACTION GETS LONG. HOWIE LONG."
Considering how old this movie is, and the fact that I never even bothered to see it, should tell you just how awful that tagline is. I can STILL remember it after all these years, because it's hilarious. I wish they would have put it on the DVD cover. I would buy it just for that.
A more recent example was in a TV spot for that film Gamer.
"The last time Gerard Butler kicked this much ass... WAS 300 YEARS AGO!"
So apparently the Battle of Thermopylae was in 1709.
