The Worst Movie Taglines

I'd have to say the Crank 2 tagline is one of the worst i've seen.

Some others that come to mind is

Godzilla "Size does Matter"

Stay Alive: "You die in the game, you die for real!"

Home on the Range: "Bust a Moo

Bride of Chucky: "Chucky gets lucky".

I'm sure their others that are pretty bad.

Most excessive and confusing amount of tag-lines ever:

Why was this movie a Box-Office dud, again?

Aliens' alternate tagline: "There are some places in the universe you don't go alone."

Here you go..

The thing that's really funny about this one is the fact that the movie is only 92 minutes long minutes. The poster basically says it's 104 minutes. Where the hell is is that extra 12 minutes of footage!?:cmad:

It's bad because it's accurate. It didn't matter who won in AVP. If you saw the movie, you lost.

Also, the Buckaroo Bonzai one sounds like it was comprised of a bunch of quotes from those "Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials.

I never really understood the tagline "It's nothing personal" from T2, who was it directed at the audience, Sarah Connor?

Hmmm. Yeah. I don't understand how that really fits, either. I guess it would work if the T-1000 was on the poster, but Arnie was the good guy in that movie, so it doesn't make sense.

Ugh -- that red eye is in the wrong place..

Shrek the Third: "The wait is ogre"

Dodgeball: "Grab life by the ball"

Armageddon: "Time to kick some asteroid" :whatever:

Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: "Sith happens"

I agree with most of those, but the Dodgeball one pretty much fit the tone of the movie so I can't really say it's that bad.

i read somewhere it was kind of a joke because it was popular at the time to put "This time it's personal" on all these movie posters. Like that Jaws poster from the previous page. So they just kinda went the opposite route.

I thought AvP's was pretty good although not very accurate. If the Aliens won, they'd take over the world. If the Predators won, a couple of humans would die as collatoral damage and none of that would happen again for another hundred years.

"Take the dare" was stupid but at least they tried. "Prepare for the Fantastic" was not only unoriginal but I'm pretty sure it was a ripoff of the Incredibles' tagline.

"Size does matter" was ok because it played on the more often heard "Size doesn't matter" and had some subtle if completely unnecessary innuendo to it. What really got annoying was everything else that summer using "Size DOESN'T Matter." as a tagline like they were being clever.

"Unwittingly, he trained a dolphin to kill the president of the US".. wow

Haha I remember that one!

These days, it's hard to have an original idea that nobody and the Simpsons have done before. But I'd like to think that whoever came up with "Unwittingly, he trained a dolphin to kill the president of the united states." had an epiphany in which a sentence was uttered that had never been thought of before.

It is to taglines what "Snakes On A Plane" was to movie titles; one line that describes the premise and guaruntees the movie gets made.
