Training with the Gracie family for years is unproven good will. That is why some MMA fighters and fans have a problem with the signing. Many MMA fighters have multiple fight professional records and would scratch and claw to have a UFC match. It doesn't matter if it is in the undercard or preliminaries. Saying "well, at least he isn't in the main event" undercuts the entire sport. CM Punk was handed a multi-fight contract with no fights and/or no major mixed martial arts accolades. That's the problem some have. It was based on merit in another organization because there is nobody else on the planet that could have "years of training with the Gracie family" and have Dana White reach out and sign him.

This. Many MMA fighters also have backgrounds in other combat sports, which is something CM Punk does not have. Training with the Gracie Family does not impress many of the MMA fighters who have been fighting for years to have a chance to fight in the UFC. Dana White only signed him because he was in the WWE.

Hell, UFC Commentator Joe Rogan blasted Punk in the UFC in February, saying he should have tried smaller promotions first:

I know this isn't an uncommon perception but do you resent Rock for leaving to become an actor? Main event or title holder be damned (and I agree with you 100% that it wasn't best for business to headline twice or hold the title), I'm 99% sure Rock cares a lot about the business or else he wouldn't keep coming back time and time again, let alone wrestle. I'd even wager that Rock cared so much, when Vinny Mac asked him to put the boots back on, he did it because he didn't want to say no and even worked his schedule around live events.

That's definitely giving a **** about the business, Hunter.

No, I am glad he went to be an actor, I like him more in movies than I ever did in the WWE. He came back to WWE right when he moved back into making action movies, he needed to reconnect with the 15-30 audience he drifted from with all those kiddie movies he made. It was a self promotional move, a smart one to be sure, but it was about his career. I don't doubt he enjoys the energy of being in front of a live crowd, but so far he's given nothing back with any of those appearances.

He's gotten in eartly because he's too old to wait any longer and Dana White needs some star power, someone that can string articulate sentences together, be entertaining and promote his company, I am not disagreeing with that. What I am saying is that it's not the same as coming in and headlining the show, which was Punk's complaint with Dwayne, not that he was there at all, just that he took the very top slot.

I don't resent the part-timers themselves nearly as much as I resent WWE. It's WWE's fault Rock was cracking jokes on the Wyatts and he was involved in the continued slide of this stable. It's WWE's fault Undertaker still has top matches at the big four shows. It's WWE's fault they gave Lesnar and Ambrose 13 minutes and couldn't book this match so Ambrose looked tough. God, I wish Turner was around to sign McMahon's crutches.

So the Rock hosted the MTV Movie Awards last night with Kevin Hart.

How did he do and what was his chemistry with Hart?

I haven't watched the MTV Awards in about 8 years.

The only reason Rock came back was to pass the long delayed torch to Cena. I enjoyed both of his matches against Punk though.

He has great chemistry with Hart:

That was because in the last 8 years, the nominees were all about Twilight, which I believe was about shirtless pretty boys who turned into wolves and effeminate vampires.

Is the Rock even coming back for Fast and Furious 8?

Hey guys, what if Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson join up with Reigns at Payback and put themselves in a good position by aligning with THE guy? I like that idea.

That would be interesting.

It could work, but they're gonna be part of the Balor (Bullet) Club.

Jason Solomon came up with the idea. He thinks WWE should use the Bulletproof trademark as the group name since Reigns wears the vests.

Watching Invasion Attack. KUSHIDA and Ospreay are freaking killing it!

say....whatever happened to Mickie James?

is she still with TNA or did she retire?
