You know it's been a year since Jarrett GFW and I still don't really know what it is.

It's a wrestling promotion. They're gonna have their own shows and roster, as well cross promotion with the other promotions they've struck deals with. As well offer PPVs like with NJPW, which they are doing again with Sotuh Africa's World Wrestling Professionals. Simple enough. I can respect that he's taking things slow, and not trying to race to the finish. I assume he wants to at least get a TV deal in place before contracting wrestlers.

In addition to Bryan vs Ziggler, I want to see Cesaro and Kidd vs Hideo and Balor tearing it up at mania. A mark can dream.

I guess we'll be getting

Reigns vs Lesnar the chosen main event
Bryan vs Ziggler the peoples main event
Triple H vs Sting
Cena vs Rusev
Rollins vs Orton
Wyatt vs Taker?
Ambrose vs ????

I give I can give WWE this much: for the first time in years, WrestleMania will actually feel like a Supershow. For damn near the past 10 Mania events, there's usually been 3-4 matches that the show(s) have been built around and everything else was filler. This year? There's at least 6 marquee matches.

As much as I love the Japanese commentary and the English commentary on AXS TV is great, the subtitles really fill in a lot of the gaps.

This dude is one of the baddest and most respected men in wrestling.

D-Bry vs Ziggler at WM is happening or just part of wish lists?

Well Ziggler via twitter asked for the match so they could tear the house down, it's gained momentum and according to some dirt sheets it seems that it could be in the cards for Mania

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: WWE) announced on Tuesday that the company’s digital network had signed up its one-millionth subscriber, a target the company has long said it needed to reach in order to break even. Shares jumped almost 25% to nearly $13. By noon Wednesday shares were trading again at around $11.75.

The devil was in the details. Since the end of the third quarter the network subscriber total rose by 37% the company said in a press release on Tuesday, “driven primarily by a successful free November promotion, the launch of the service in the U.K., and significant additions for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.”

In the third quarter pay-per-view revenues were down 75%, or about $10.9 million, while subscription revenues totaled $22.4 million. At the end of that quarter the company had 723,174 average monthly subscribers. Churn was awesome: gross additions totaled 285,000 and churn totaled 254,000 subscribers.

Pay-per-view buys were down 63% in the third quarter and average per-buy revenue declined 34% to just $12.83. WWE attributes the decline to an increase in international pay-per-view buyers who pay less than domestic viewers.

WWE’s network has been up and running for just under a year and to reach 1 million subscribers in that time is no small achievement. The trick is going to be keeping them. Otherwise, the company will have to resort to more promotional pricing to keep churning up new subscribers.

The company is scheduled to report fourth-quarter and full-year results next week, and analysts are expecting an earnings per share loss of $0.08 on revenues of $135.42 million for the quarter and an earnings per share loss of $0.47 on revenues of $537.56 million for the full-year.

Shares traded down nearly 5% on Wednesday at $11.88 in the mid-afternoon. The stock’s 52-week range is $9.82 to $31.98.

Someone on wrestlingforum posted this to shed light on WWE's financial standing with the Network:

Due to the amount if misinformation on this subject that has been spread (mostly by desperate Reigns marks) this requires it's own thread.

First, it was claimed that the 1 million subscriber figure that was announced after the Rumble was largely attributed to Reigns and his drawing power. This absurd claim was immediately debunked by WWE in their own press release:

http://corporate.wwe.com/news/2015/wwe-network-hits-1-million-subscribers

Second, some called into question the 1 million subscriber figure. The figure is real, but as this article states, 1 million is likely a gross number and there was some churn.

http://247wallst.com/media/2015/01/28/world-wrestling-entertainment-cant-pin-down-subscribers/

In case you're unfamiliar with the terms "gross additions" and "churn,"

gross adds - The total number of new subscribers added by a company. Gross adds aren’t adjusted to include the number of customers that cancelled service. Typically gross add numbers are used in the telecom industry, however, they may be used in other industries and contexts as well.

http://www.yourdictionary.com/gross-adds

churn - The percentage of subscribers to a service that discontinue their subscription to that service in a given time period.

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/churnrate.asp

So it appears that 1 million is the number of people that have ever subscribed to the Network since its inception and not the current amount of active paying subscribers.

Furthermore, the article states that financial analysts are forecasting an earnings per share loss for the company.

And from a glance at their financials:

-Net profit margins have underperformed in comparison to the industry.

-Return on Equity is under performing not only in comparison to the industry, but to the same quarter the previous year.

-Same thing for its net operating cash flow.

A lot of uneducated and uninformed individuals on this very forum have attempted to paint a rosy picture of the WWE's financial position, when in reality, that's not really the case. They are not on the brink of bankruptcy, but they certainly aren't performing to their potential. Not even close.

If they do a 2 out of 3 falls at Mania it could steal the show ala Angle vs Benoit

which is precisely why they won't do it. I could actually see it ending in less thn ten minutes with creative just flipping a coin to see who to screw over

Someone should ask Meredith Whitney whether WWE is a "buy" or not. :o

Someone should ask Meredith Whitney whether WWE is a "buy" or not. :o

:hehe:

It most certainly isn't with it still helmed by Vince, who invests in risky ventures (like his bodybuilding league, XFL, and now the Network), buries his most talented employees, and constantly craps on his viewing audience.

Vince is a poor business man. At least, he has been in the last 10 years.

Someone over at the wrestlecrap forums last year posted what the Cena vs Rusev feud might be like. some miner changes it seems pretty accurate:
