- Doesn't go into detail about it, but he felt Jarrett ****ed him over during his stint with TNA and hated him for it. That's when he realized he needed to go back to church to be born again because he was consumed with negative feelings.
- is a huge fan of KISS and The San Francisco Giants.
- Went to college to be a journalist, but lost his passion after finding out how the real world of journalism works with stories being sensationalized or flat out lies.
- Owned a video store and also did a pro wrestling radio talk show.
- Contrary to popular belief, Russo was a wrestling fan growing up.
- Loathes Halle Berry due to her Diva-like attitude.
- Howard Stern was the inspiration behind Russo's Vic Venom character.
- McMahon rarely gives credit where its due since he's a control freak. That's why he stopped putting credits at the end of PPVs.
- McMahon also doesn't believe in being sick, has never seen ECW programming, and only knew of it from word of mouth, and thinks if he hasn't seen or doesn't know about something, the rest of America hasn't!
- Felt bad for McMahon during the Donahue episode and decided to go work for him. He got the job working for the WWF Magazine as a freelance writer after writing a letter to Linda McMahon. He started after the weekend of Wrestlemania VIII.
- If he didn't get the job, he would've stayed working at an appliance store.
- His first story was on Adam Bomb.
- Used to road trip with The Fink.
- Prichard always ribbed The Fink. One day, he had Jack Doan tackle him during a show. Fink was surprised, but ribbed back by overselling it, crying and having to be helped to the back, asking to go to the emergency room.
- Russo pulled a rib once by tricking a co-worker into dressing up as The Riddler so the office could have a field day with him!
- Two years later, he got the job of WWF Magazine editor. He moved to Stamford and began a few weeks before Wrestlemania X.
- Bret Hart would wrestle every match like it was his last.
- It was Russo's idea to create the RAW magazine, Goldust's trademark quote, to have Maivia call himself The Rock (which Russo had a hard time with because he was a big fan of Don Muraco), to bring back the Womens Championship, to bring Michaels back to TV in a recurring role after he retired, for Shane and Stephanie McMahon to be on television (had to fight with McMahon on the latter), to have Owen come down from a grappling harness, and to call Triple H "The Game" and Chyna "The Ninth Wonder Of The World".
- Hunter Hearst Helmsley was uncomfortable playing The Blue Blood.
- Confirms McMahon didn't see anything in Steve Austin and gave him the Ringmaster gimmick. Austin hated it and also hated talking in the monotone voice.
- Henry Godwinn and Hunter Hearst Helmsley wrestled in real pig sh** in the Hogpen Match.
- Goldust's character was McMahon's idea as well as the way he talked. He wasn't gay, but did it to toy with his opponent's minds. The Goldust character was eventually canned due to pressure from the public hence "The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust". Goldust was seriously considering getting breast implants in order to keep his job.
- Broke the 20 ft. Oscar statue in Hollywood due to a strong gust of wind during one of the vignettes they shot for Goldust, but didn't get arrested because security thought he moved the red carpet.
- Watched some ECW, but won't admit it influenced him to change the WWF in 1996 because business was so down. Making things realistic saved the company.
- WWF was thinking about giving the WWF magazine to a third party to save a few bucks so Russo talked them out of it.
- McMahon was seriously considering paying 1 million dollars to OJ Simpson so he could wrestle Roddy Piper at Wrestlemania XII as soon as he was found not guilty!
- Confirms the Klique ran the locker room and Prichard wasn't a fan of them.
- Razor Ramon was difficult to work with.
- Diesel was also difficult to work with, but in WCW, it was the complete opposite.
- Jeff Jarrett was the talent he got along with the most and that's why they became good friends.
- Enjoyed writing material for Bob Backlund a lot.
- Shawn Michaels hated the material Vince McMahon wanted him to say in order to promote house shows when he was the WWF Champion, but went along with it.
- McMahon didn't understand Austin 3:16 so he had it removed from the RAW Magazine cover featuring Austin. That move cost him sales.
- Was a huge supporter of Sable. Unfortunately, almost all the Divas hated her.
- Sunny didn't like her bikini magazine cover and threatened to sue if it wasn't changed. They kept it.
- Saved Sunny from getting beat up by Luna Vachon backstage.
- Pat Patterson was behind Rocky Maivia's push from day one, but it was Prichard's idea to put him in The Nation Of Domination.
- Was embarrassed to see the fake Razor Ramon and Diesel angle happen.
- Was good friends with Jack Lanza, who was a mentor to him. When he went to WCW, Lanza dropped him like a bad habit.
- Did not like Todd Pettengill.
- Bret Hart was supposed to win the 1997 Royal Rumble, but Russo had it changed because it was too predictable.
- Was so fed up with the product, he seriously considered jumping to WCW and called Biscoff to jump. He regrets the phone call as well as the crucifixation angle with Undertaker.
- Russo became head writer of RAW in March 1997. He wouldn't have gotten there without Bill Watts inviting him to a creative meeting a few years ago and by being the No Man when McMahon surrounded himself with Yes Men.
- It would take 8 to 10 hours just to write one episode of RAW! He tried to look out for the midcarders because McMahon only cared about the main eventers.
- Helmsley was overprotective of Chyna and would be present whenever she was given an angle.
- Didn't get along with Jim Cornette because he refused to change with the times. Good guys were good (smile, kiss babies) and bad guys (lie, cheat, steal) were bad and that it wasn't cool to cheer for the villain. Fans go for the heel because they feel real while babyfaces come off as hokey.
- Cornette used to drive around with a loaded gun underneath his seat.
- Austin felt Owen's piledriver botch was done on purpose.
- Jarrett's shoot promo was a major reason why Austin refused to work with him although Jarrett did it to help Austin with sales of his t-shirts, not hurt it.
- DeGeneration X was mainly Shane McMahon's idea. They needed to come up with a stable to combat the New World Order.
- Michaels was difficult to work with if he didn't get his way and 9 times out of 10, McMahon would give in to what HBK wanted.
- Cornette was strongly against Helmsley getting pushed as he felt he wasn't drawing material.
- The Screwjob was Russo's idea. He came up with the finish at McMahon's house 3 days before Survivor Series 1997. Jim Cornette was there.
- Montreal was McMahon's fault to begin with. He promised Bret Hart big money in order for him to stay, but then had to back out when he realized he couldn't come through.
- Owen didn't want anything to do with Bret's drama and remained loyal to WWF for his own family's sake. McMahon paid him more money just to make sure he stayed.
- McMahon knew what he did to Bret was wrong and allowed himself to get punched to make The Hitman feel better.
- It was McMahon's idea to become a character and physically get in the ring as he felt it was one of the only ways he would be able to get the ratings back up.
- Having Terry Funk come out of the box was Cornette's idea. Chainsaw Charlie was McMahon's idea.
- Michaels was bitter that he was losing his top spot to Austin and threatened to not do the job. Russo had to be a middleman because the boss and HBK weren't on speaking terms. The promo Shawn cut on RAW about McMahon heading into Wrestlemania 14 was a shoot.
- Austin was meticulous about angles involving him so that it made sense with his character or that he looked strong. It took him a long time to get to the top so that's why he became protective of his spot. Helmsley also did the same.
- Val Venis was his favorite creation. He got over because he was entertaining, not because of his workrate. One of his vignettes had Jenna Jameson in it, but McMahon didn't air it because he thought she was ugly! O_O
- Loved the D-X invading Nitro segment.
- If Stephanie hadn't graduated from college on the same day, McMahon would've shown up at Slamboree 1998 to fight Bischoff legit!
- Mankind's fall though The Hell In The Cell at King Of The Ring 1998 was not planned.
- Sable "exposing" her boobs at Fully Loaded 1998 was her idea. She was also supposed to be part of The Oddities.
- Was disappointed by Austin Vs. Undertaker at SummerSlam 1998 since it was a match based on respect, not hatred, and because of that, he felt the Madison Square Garden crowd wasn't into it as much as they should've been.
- McMahon botched his landing on the table at St. Valentine's Day's Massacre and got hurt legit. He wouldn't admit it though.
- Confirms Wrestlemania XV was originally going to be Austin Vs. Maivia Vs. Foley, but Michaels talked McMahon into making it a singles match.
- Russo was livid at Shawn for doing that and hated having to tell Mankind the bad news that he wasn't going to main event Wrestlemania. He respected Foley a lot because he never grew an ego even after winning the WWF title.
- Owen was perfectly okay with the harness entrance and the practice drop worked without a hitch. Russo regrets the stunt since he was close with Owen.
- Was distaught by Owen's passing and Austin talked to him to keep him at ease.
- His proudest creative moment was the "Rock, This Is Your Life" segment even though McMahon didn't like that it went on for so long. 8.4 in the ratings!
- WWF got away with a lot because of Bonnie Hammer, who ran USA. She understood that more ratings = more money for the network. And all she asked was her being warned in advance of anything being controversial so she could handle PR.
- Naked Mideon was originally meant for Goldust.
- Got burnt out after being overworked and underpaid with the addition of Smackdown. Double the workload and not an increase in pay! The final straw that led to him quitting was McMahon being disrespecting after asking him to get a nanny when he told him he wanted to spend time with his kids.
- Hogan, Goldberg, Bradshaw, Piper, and Bischoff all hated him.
- The books end with him going to WCW.
