I've seen the vids, his stuff is ok, he always was very good in the ring, I'm not anti-Del Rio, I was commenting on the hypocrisy of how the same poster now citing him as a reason to buy a PPV talked nothing but **** about him for his entire WWE run.

There were quite a lot of people here that suddenly became Del Rio fans after he popped up on Lucha Underground.

Yep. Certain types of smarks are pretty transparent sometimes.

True. I never hated Del Rio, I remember Slushy being his biggest supporter in the thread. I always liked him but he was never a favorite of mine.

I hate this mentality that WWE sucks =/= all of wrestling sucks. This statement couldn't be anymore false. There are so many alternatives out there and easy to access it's crazy.

I don't watch New Japan or anything in Mexico, but I do watch NXT

Smarks are allowed to change their minds aren't they? I'm not that big of ADR myself but even some of my friends that disliked ADR, has felt that he's shown a more engaging side of himself than he has before

ADR seems the same to me but whatever. I've always thought he was a solid wrestler but I'm not his biggest fan.

Not a fan of him at all but I don't get why people are going "hahaha hypocrite smarks" because fans had a change of heart about him.

I remember a time when the Shield first started their main roster push their were already people criticizing them, calling them overrated, saying they don't fit their gimmicks etc etc but who here really rags on these guys now? Maybe their is criticism for Reigns but not Ambrose and Rollins anymore.

its the standard hipster/nerd rule if its part of the mainstream it sucks, but once he was part of the underground(pun intended) he's god

i'm sorry but im still in the camp del rio is boring as all hell

I wish it was easier to go back and find that thread where it happened because it was pretty comical. One person was like "Del Rio was a decent guy, I'm glad he landed on his feet" then it snowballed into a Del Rio love fest.

I'm sitting here reading it and was like "Wait, this is the same guy everyone mocked and called Juan Cena during live Raw's". :funny:

I don't have an issue with people changing their minds on a wrestler. However, I do think there is some hypocrisy taking place. Some of the people praising Del Rio now are the people who like to talk about bandwagon jumpers with guys coming from the indies to WWE.

Because of the reason for them changing their minds. Simply because he's not part of WWE anymore. I can't say that's universally why. But for the majority of them? Yes, absolutely.

Maaaaaan. Tonight MSG got Orton vs Wyatt (originally advertised was Reigns vs Bray but def looks like Reigns is teaming with Bryan for the ME against Show and Rollins). It's funny cause a few weeks back ProWrestlingMag asked it's followers on twitter which match they would've liked to see at Mania and I said RKO vs Bray if Orton wasn't already working a program with Rollins. Their match tonight was said to be a great one.

Also a rough night for the divas after #GiveDivasAChance. Paige got a good response but after that Paige/Nikki had to deal with "Pissbreak" "Benoit" and "Lets go Cena/Cena sucks" chants.
I am not sure if Mr pretend to go to Japan's comments were aimed at me but I am just burned out on the ******** of wrestling in general, I'm just tired of the crap, my love for the business is gone.

And I get this feeling as well from time to time. Only things keeping me in the game are guys like Rollins, Ambrose, RKO and obviously NXT. NXT is like Chipotle. Brings in the love and makes me want more. :o

I have say that sounds pretty disrespectful coming from that crowd.

Apparently people are saying it's a disrespectful crowd in general and at times "lifeless". Which is pretty different compared to the last time they were at the Garden. But the crowd popped pretty hard for Cena, Jericho and now Hogan.

Edit: Also NEW DAY got booed out of the building.

I find the Benoit chants to be disguising in particular.

I see where you're coming from. WWE is the last major game in town, and as much as people love these alternatives, there's no Wrestling company that can match WWE's level of production or presentation. Which makes it all the more heartbreaking that the main WWE product sucks.

That Meltzer article really put in perspective for me. I got rid of the WWE network right after Reigns beat Bryan, and I'll probably stop watching after WM31. Right now, I'm just holding on to see how this Taker/Wyatt feud pans out.

Exactly, I've watched a lot of promotions over the last 10-15 years as access to wrestling other than WWE became more viable, but at heart WWE is "home" if you like, even watching the smaller shows I liked my thoughts would often be "I'd love to see this guy on the big stage" and that remains true to this day.

Bryan's injury followed by the crappy way they split The Shield neutered my interested, Punk retiring and the aftermath killed it. I only popped back briefly in the hope that they'd do it right for once and we'd get Bryan vs Brock at Mania and I'd close the wrestling chapter on a positive note, but it was not to be as Vince is an arrogant, delusion old fool and is insisting on pushing a barely over, completely unready live-action GI Joe figure due to his out of touch, dated notion of what a top star is supposed to look like.

They turned my disinterest and frustration into disgust though with how they treat Bryan over the course of last Sunday/Monday, never has there been such a disgustingly blatant attempt to tell fans they do not matter at all and try to assert a control they can no longer have.

Truth.

I am not, nor have I ever been an indy or Japan guy. I will watch once in a while. Hell, I've gone to numerous ROH shows in Chicago and follow along a bit with their shows but I find most indy shows to be boring, or just booked completely randomly.

Japan's style of wrestling is cool but the language barrier is huge to me as I can't follow along so I have no idea what is going on even when I try to read up and figure out feuds.

I look at Japan wrestling the same way I do the Transformer films, looks awesome as hell, but since I don't know/understand the back story I just really have a hard time caring.

Been a WWE guy since I was like 5, thats a quarter century of brand loyalty, and that loyalty hasn't been rewarded in years and I am just burned out.

That last part really puts it in a nutshell, you support as a fan for over 2 decades, you're still watching through long spells of dreck for the few crumbs of quality. Then finally someone comes along to revive interest and they totally misuse him, then a second guy comes along and they do it again, by that point you realize they don't give a **** about the fans views at all, merely what they want, which is the weirdest way to run a business.

Maybe we facilitated that by watching WWE in 95/96 when it barely deserved any viewers, as that has inspired the feeling from management that we'll sit through any crap they serve up.

:D

Nothing left to keep me in the game, any pretense that anyone but Reigns is going to be given the mega push is as hollow as the brief chances given to Punk and Bryan, they'll be short and undercooked so we can return to Reigns just like we always returned to Cena welcome to the next decade of WWE crap only this time minus a guy who at least has charisma and can talk.

Being a US wrestling fan is like being in Fight Club. You get hit with so much, but you wind getting up for more. I try to make out lemonade out of lemons these days. Even the garbage PPVs from back, I look for the positives.

Pretty much. Dude won me over in his debut match where he beat Mysterio straight up. He went on to have several great bouts and win a lot of accomplishments in his WWE career before being unjustly let go. I'm glad he joined Styles and Hardy in ruling the Indy scene though and won back some of his haters (I knew he would do it. It was only a matter of time).

It was hard to be a fan of his because it seemed like every messageboard I was on would bash the guy to no end despite producing great matches to watch.

From my own personal experience, I met him before RAW the day after Royal Rumble 2013 and he was great with me.

So there seems to be some conflicting reports about the chants at tonight's MSG house show. Some people say there were chants but others are saying that the girls got one of the biggest pops of the night, especially Nikki when she did Cena's "you can't see me" hand wave.
