Extreme Rules 2013 buyrate and Samuray Del Sol update:

One of WWE's newest acquisitions Samuray Del Sol has filed a trademark for his ring name, which might indicate that he'll be using a new name when he reports to WWE developmental in July.

The 2013 WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view got 228,000 buys. This is a decrease from 2012's 263,000 buys.

Smackdown spoilers
Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow, Dublin Street Fight - Very fun match that turned into a relatively brutal hardcore match. Highlights include Sheamus throwing a beer keg at Sandow, then later dumping a bag of potatoes on him. Lots, and I mean lots, of stiff cane shots... looked nasty, Sandow actually broke one on Sheamus. Near the 14 minute mark, Sheamus sets up two chairs, which Sandow ends up sitting on leading to Sheamus kicking him out of the chairs and pinning him for the win. Very fun match, the crowd loved it, and the people here seemed to really dig Sheamus.

Bathroom break, but I thought I heard Vince...

Miz TV with Paul Heyman - Crowd hated Paul, loved Miz... it was just there. Nothing big. Curtis Axel comes out and Miz wants a match with him... Heyman says his typical no answer, and Axel beats on Miz to end the segment. Eh. 12 minute segment. Too long.

AJ Lee vs. Natalya - Kaitlyn comes out dressed as AJ like AJ did to her. Match goes about a minute, as Kaitlyn distracts AJ, and Nattie gets the win. Kaitlyn then spears AJ to decisively end the segment.

Teddy Long and Vince backstage - Teddy announces the MITB WHC lineup of Barret, Ambrose, Fandango, Swagger, Cesaro, Sandow, and Rhodes... and I can't remember who if anyone else. Ends with Teddy and Vince doing the Fandango pronunciation thing.

Kane vs. Randy Orton with Daniel Bryan on commentary - first off, definitely disappointed this is the second of both times Bryan has come here for a WWE show and not wrestled. Match started out pretty cool, the audience didn't care too much at first... then, the second half was on fire. Hard work in the ring from both guys, the crowd was hot and into it, and Daniel Bryan helped things by standing on the announce desk and starting both Yes and No chants. Kane gets knocked to the floor, and Bryan goes to check on him and tries to hurry him back into the ring so he can beat Orton. After Bryan pushed Kane back into the ring, Orton hits him with an RKO for the win at 15 minutes or so. Very fun match by the end.

Justin Gabriel vs. Ryback - Ryback wins, of course, in 2 minutes. Jericho comes out and teases Ryback, they then brawl for like half a minute before Ryback escapes to the back. Jericho introduces the nickname "cryback"... hey, it got over at least for tonight.

The Shield vs. The Usos and Christian - This match was a total blast, probably the crowd favorite of the night. Awesome work from all involved... The Usos are apparently over, judging my the reaction they got tonight. Christian pins Ambrose in about 10 minutes for his team's win. Just lots of fun, and this will probably come off best on TV.

People start to leave, haha.

Finally, we have the Fiesta Del Rio... Mariachi band comes out, lots of balloons, etc. This was your typical babyface crashes heel's celebration deal. I don't think the crowd is completely sure of Ziggler... he gets a pop when he comes out and when he hits a move or something, but in between it seemed like the crowd was sitting on their hands for this. A "salsa" chant starts up, so Ziggler tosses Rico into the salsa... Ziggler picks up a guitar to hit Del Rio, but Del Rio makes a run for it through the crowd. Ziggler then hits Rico with the guitar... Ziggler Plays around with the band, the balloons are released as people start filing out in droves.

Del Rio comes back out and quickly attacks Ziggler again, but Ziggler gets the upper hand, quickly.

And it sounds like a lot of people didn't care for the Kaitlyn segment. :funny:

Pretty solid MITB Smackdown line-up.

If that report is accurate, then all of the participants are heels...interesting move.

However, MITB is in Philly this year, which is usually a hot, smark-ish crowd...and despite the match apparently featuring nothing but heels, it does include a few IWC favorites. It'll probably open the show.

Hmmmm, on those SD spoilers.

The Shield lose again with Ambrose taking the pin? Odd.

Ryback running from Jericho and now being labeled Cryback doesn't seem like the most progressive way to try and reboot his monster persona.

Not surprised that the crowd are unsure on Dolph, the commentary is still not fully turning on Del Rio and Dolph has not a true defining face turn moment, I know Punk didn't either but Ziggler is nowhere near as over.

On the SD MITB line-up.

Fandango? and how the hell is Swagger in there after all his **** ups? The rest seem like the right picks to me, hopefully Ambrose wins. Personally I'd have had Big E in there as if he won it would set up some interesting tension with Dolph when he gets the WHC back.

I hadn't noticed that, just as I hadn't noticed that the Raw MITB match is all faces until I saw it mentioned on another site this morning.

Ever since the PPVs inception, the Smackdown match usually opens. And I suspect Ambrose and Cesaro will be over like crazy. :hehe:

And with the exception of last year, the Smackdown match usually is longer, but the Raw match is more dangerous.

My cable went out Monday night (grrrrrrr...:argh:), so I wasn't able to watch Raw until earlier this evening. Pretty good show...nice heel work by AJ, solid promo from Mark Henry (it was going to be hard to follow up last week's classic swerve), incredible mic work from Punk and Heyman and a great moment to end the show for Daniel Bryan, after a very entertaining match. WWE's on a really nice roll right now!

So if the Rock was not able to do WM 30 due to Terminator 5, what would be the WM 30 card?

I didn't pick up on that either. Again, an interesting move.

Better! ;)

Plus I actually like the idea of Rock in a Terminator movie, but as a guy fighting the Terminator as opposed to a Terminator as making him a robot removes his charisma which seems pointless to me.

It seems very deliberate, maybe WWE are using it as a test to see who is most over amongst their faces in front of a smark crowd and to see who the fans like out of the second tier heels.

Maybe it means John Cena will do a heel turn? :oldrazz:

Though he's more likely to do another literal heel turn.

Man, I wish I was going to MITB this year. I love being part of the smark crowds! :D

Speaking of John Cena, guys, whoever is a fan of Doctor of Thuganomics Cena look up the John Cena 'Doctor of Thuganomics'

I watched it, and I miss the old Cena. All I can say about that was "We took you for granted!"

Hmmm, let me think about this.

Paul Heyman needs a main event guy to manage to "replace" CM Punk, a full-time main eventer (not Brock Lesnar then).

Who better then, than the last man to hold the ECW championship? A man who could be next in line to win the WWE championship as well?

And then if Punk wins the red case, then ...

Ezekiel Jackson? :oldrazz:
