My pick to win the blue case: anyone but Jack Swagger

I think Barrett has a nice shot at winning. Guy is kind of overdue. Had he not gotten injured, he would have won it last year.

Does anyone else miss the idea of guys actually having to compete to earn a spot in the MITB Ladder Match rather than just a random announcement?

I would like one day for a MITB case to be cashed in, successfully, at a house show. That would send online wrestling media buzzing, leading to an anticipated Raw or Smackdown right after.

Something like this would of happened in the 90s. Now they could cash in on Smackdown and it would almost be the same effect.

At this point I'm just glad they are announcing matches before the ppv.

It would be nice if they were more story driven , consistent , and made it seem like every match was purposeful. It would give the announcers something to talk about on shows like The Main Event. I do miss the semi realistic approach WWE used to have. Unfortunately you get into the mess of Jericho beating Heath Slater to qualify while someone of less stature has to beat Kofi Kingston or someone to that effect. All this reminds me of how much I miss King of The Ring.

I hope this becomes a situation where he learns by failing first, and with this failure being the last one.

CM Punk filing restraining order against his mother.
TMZ is reporting the following:

"WWE superstar CM Punk has obtained a restraining order against his estranged mother -- claiming she constantly hits him up for money and then threatens to kill herself if he doesn't come through ... TMZ has learned.

Punk -- real name Phillip Brooks -- claims in legal docs filed in Illinois that he's tried to break off his relationship with his mother for more than a year "due to repeated financial demands and years of abusive, harassing and threatening behavior."

In the document, Punk says he's made an effort to help his mom -- who he claims suffers from bipolar disorder -- giving her more than $100,000. But Punk says her "abusive/threatening behavior" escalated when he cut her off.

That's when Punk's mom allegedly unleashed a torrent of nasty emails -- telling the wrestler, "You don't give a s**t about us. You just care about your money and money hungry/fame hungry friends. You would sell us for a nickel."

Punk also says his mother threatened to release potentially embarrassing information about her son's past. Punk suggests the information has to do with arrests when he was in high school.

In the docs, Punk says his mother has threatened to commit suicide on at least 4 occasions in 2012.

Punk says, "I wish for the harassment to stop and am requesting the assistance of the court in this regards."

The judge in the case granted the temporary restraining order back on June 10 -- but the wrestler is due back in court today where he will likely try to extend the protection order for several years.

Shoulda known this would eventually happen. Punk's family was practically nonexistent during his childhood, so for his mother to be doing this to him is despicably predictable.

Paul Heymans new client will be Punks Mom.

Watching the Punk documentary, I thought it was interesting that they didn't spend too much time on that aspect of his life. He spoke about his parents in a matter of sentences.

Now I kinda understand why.

I'm not sure how many years back, the Hardys were both back in WWE and were, for the most part, competing in singles matches (I think this was around the time when they won that tag team battle royal to win the tag belts... Cena and HBK were one set of champs going into it, and Kendrick/London held the other tag belts). Both were really over, especially Jeff, of course, and he was in and out of the main event scene.

I thought it would have been awesome to have Matt win MITB (this is back when it was still at WM), then have Jeff win the WWE title (or WHC, can't remember) that same night. Jeff is having his moment in the ring, when of course Matt comes out and they celebrate, hugging, and raising each others' hands while also holding the belt and briefcase. Then, of course, Matt hits Jeff with his finisher (forgot what it was called), and tosses the briefcase at the ref at ringside, pinning Jeff and taking the title, turning heel in the process. They could have feuded throughout the spring/summer with Jeff eventually winning the belt back and Matt turning face again. I thought that would've been a sweet main event feud and cash-in.

Yeah, I'm actually watching the documentary on Netflix right now and he really breezes by that topic.

There were implications , but I didn't know it was this bad. If a relative hands you 100,000 dollars why the hell are you asking for more. Punk realized it was time to cut her off and did the right thing.

I wouldn't worry about it: Jack Swagger can't even win a court case, much less a MITB case.

Funny enough he had enough trouble taking down the MITB case when he won it a few years back. Maybe he was high when he was trying to get it down.:oldrazz:

Bryan winning a MITB with this amount of stars is really going to boost his stock. Although I'm guessing he'll announce his cash in in advance(summerslam) to prove he is not a weak link. It'll probably be unsuccessful, but he'll take Cena to the limit. I hope we get a Bryan/Cena series. As far as the other MITB, I'm thinking Barret might finally get it, but he nedds to be built up again. He had three reigns as IC champ and not one memorable fued for the title.
