The Wrestling Thread Wasn't Actually Drafted...It Just Showed Up! - Part 241

Seems likes its gonna be AJ and Owens fueding for the US title. But that leaves a hole in the WWE title scene. Makes me wonder if Corbin is being set up for that number 1 contender spot.

Is it fami that hates Ziggler here? I can't remember.
I don't hate him. He seems like a decent enough dude.

I don't think he can work, though. All he does is bump super hard for every move, then make a comeback and either barely win or barely fall short. Every single match. For like ten years.

And he's always in the dumbest and most cringleworthy angles on the show, but that's not really his fault.

But yeah, I wouldn't even put a midcard title on the guy.

Smack Down easily got the better deal, IMO. They addressed all their issues coming into the draft-

Roster depth- losing Bray, Miz and Ambrose and getting KO, Zayn and Rusev in return in addition to Dillinger and Nakamura via call up. In addition, Erick Rowan and more importantly, Luke Harper can truly be used as singles wrestlers now.

Balancing the horsewomen- self explanatory.

Saving the Tag Division- The New Day gives an instant pick me up to the division.

On RAW though they get Bray and Miz, I just don't see them using them in a meaningful way.

They sort the problem of plenty in their tag team division, especially in term of teams that need protecting.

They get proper jobbers to feed Roman, Braun and Samoa Joe in place of Rusev and Zayn.

Speaking of which, the SHIELD are on the same show.

SmackDown got treated very well in the shake up. I'm really pleased.

Rusev is going to kill it on Talking Smack when he gets back. I can't wait to see him and Bryan interact.

Then quickly traded to RAW.

Doubt it. Smackdown is the more wrestling oriented of the two shows, it's why Nakamura is on there. Plus, she faces a whole new crop of women on Smackdown, where as if she were to be on Raw, she would have already faced Emma, Dana Brooke, Mickie James, Nia Jax and Bayley in NXT.

I still don't get how SmackDown is the wrestling show when RAW is more apt to put a cold match out there than SD.

Kevin Owens took up the **** talking job on Talking Smack. I'll miss The Miz a little less now.

I don't mind that they made AJ Styles go after the WWE US Title because it keeps AJ busy until the Orton vs. Bray feud is finished.

Okay, maybe not but they have a lot of our favorites. Smackdown's main issue is that the World Champion is bland as hell, but the good news is that we got a very interesting mid-card now.

Randy is going to be much better as the heel against AJ, Nak, and Sami.

Well considering Orton really hasn't changed in a decade, heel or face, I'd rather he'd just disappear and let the great guys work.

Yeah, but that ain't happening, Darth.

When Randy gives a damn, he can put on some good matches. Right now it hasn't seemed like he has given a damn since his return from injury. At least with Cena, he gives a damn every time he is in a WWE ring. During the Road to WrestleMania, Cena was on fire with his promos. The only things Randy has done that was entertaining since his move to Smackdown was him joining the Wyatt Family and committing arson. Cena had a great feud with AJ Styles all last year, including a clean win at Summerslam (which was why I had no problem with AJ dropping the belt to Cena at RR). Orton's match with Lesnar was boring as hell.

Cena has proven himself to be far superior to Orton when it comes to building the emotion necessary to produce hot matches. Orton just has something wrong with him. For as mechanical as Bret and Benoit were accused of being, their matches had a lot of energy. Even the deliberate Jake Roberts could get me hyped. Randy is just off.

Plus I think that Randy is the only major Smackdown star of note to have never appeared on Talking Smack. We've seen Cena appear many times as has AJ. Owens was very good tonight. Bray never appeared either, but that's due to his character. We saw the Miz, Dean Ambrose, Mojo Rawley, the women, the Usos and others appear, but never Randy.

And with Brock, he has Heyman speaking for him, plus he can put on a good match. IMO, his WM 33 match with Goldberg may have been short, but it was 100 times better than WM 20.

Randy was on the Tuesday after the Rumble.
