The Wrestling Thread Will Take You Out, Like On a Date

It is a good example, you look at the two and it's clear which Vince will have earmarked as a star, however it hasn't turned out that way. Look at Dloph or even The Miz, who ever thought the Miz would make it at all let alone to the top end?

Ted had the look but I always knew Cody would make it farther faster. Ideally Vince likes people with he look AND charisma (Hogan and The Rock) but at the end of the day if a guy can't talk or show charisma in WWE they're screwed.

Piper, HBK, and others never had Vince's ideal look but they had that carny gift off gab. Vince loves a good showman. Thats why the Miz made it.

Bret seeing himself as King Arthur aside I think he makes some decnet points here.

Bret lives in a fantasy world anyway so..why not? :funny: I get what he's saying. He was the chosen one (although I think thats debatable in some ways). I agree him on today's stars. for a time you had Cody, Ted, and Ziggler cloned out of the same Orton tank. Bourne looked like the economy model.

When Ziggler dyed his hair dark he was asking for trouble. The blond hair makes him unique. Everybody looks like a sculpted ab GQ model. All the same. That direction has Stephanie, Johnny Ace, and Kevin Dunns handprints all over it. When Cody got something more his stock began to rise.

Batista talks like he was an Attitude era guy.

He wishes he was. He's more than old enough. :hehe:

Now if your vagina is Canadian made (even if other parts are made in the USA) you've pretty much got carte blanche to make it to the top

So basically Eric Young has a shot in the WWE then.

Settle down, I'm kidding, Eric would be cool with it. :hehe:

Dolph and Miz really came a long way. Gotta respect that. Also it's funny Bret says the next big thing could be sitting in developmental and we don't know it.

Well Pat Patterson WAS the first IC champ so....

Santino already fills the comedy slot. Angelina Loves Canadian so if Vince fills her slot she could certainly get her to the top. Or on top

Former World Batista spoke with The Daily Star in the UK to promote The Scorpion King 3 and talk about his MMA career. Here are some highlights: The current WWE product: "It's brutal. I can't watch it. I can't connect with it. I no longer know this business. I don't do PG http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2011/1216/547676/batista/#wrestling."
The Miz and today's Superstars: "Love me or hate me, when I was there everyone took one look at me and knew I could beat someone up. I don't think they look at Miz that way.
"It's sad. It's not their fault. These days the guys have their hands tied, they are so limited in what they can do. The difference is that guys like Rock, Austin, Triple H, excuse me, but they had to have the living ***** beat out of them to get where they are. They went through war and the audience knows it and the audience appreciates it. The guys today will never get to that level. It's sad, but that's the reason for it."

US/TV Title match (3 Way Dance)

Chris Jericho vs. Kurt "Mr Perfect" Hennig vs. C.M. Punk

Think that these three guys would be amazing together. The late Kurt Hennig was probably one of the most underrated guys in the game and these guys would have set it on fire.

Honestly, that's all I got now. I've seen a lot of amazing matches in my day that I would consider dream matches. Definitely seeing Eddie Guerrero vs. C.M. Punk in 2001 was a treat that I'll never forget. Paid 8 bucks for the ticket and had a front row seat. They put on a 30 minute match that blew my mind and that's when I knew I'd see C.M. Punk make the big time.

Punks wrestled Jericho and they do have good chemistry, having them headline a ppv will be awesome. Mr Perfect was one of my favorites in the early days. I was really excited when he returned to WWE in 2002 but that didn't last long.
I'm glad I got to see Steamboat wrestle live at a house show . He was a surprise guest and wrestled Sheamus ( who was an unknown at the time).

Sweet. I have just recently gotten back into watching wrestling I haven't watched regularly since like 2005. When did Jericho and Punk wrestle? Was it PPV or a Raw?

The only time I know of would be the King of the Ring quarter finals match on Raw in 2008. Unless you count the WM24 Money in the Bank match where they barely interact.

Cool...will have to see if maybe I can find that somewhere. Wished they could have met when Chris Jericho was in his WCW days or early WWE days.

So, I guess Smackdown is like WWE's secondary show. They start the show off the the Booker T/Cody Rhodes feud? I dig Cody Rhodes and think he comes off as a solid heel but if they are doing that why not just make Cody Rhodes the World Champ or have him in the World Champ hunt? Or maybe just start off with the World Title feud, etc. Don't get why they couldn't just make Smackdown just as important to watch as RAW, just like it was back when Smackdown first came on.

That was a nice move by Cody, countering the O'Conner Roll into the Crossroads. Looked slick.

What I find funny about WWE is that they are trying to do this PG thing but when they advertise the WWEShop.com some of the T-shirts that they highlight are Stone Cold Steve Austin and DX. So, apparently they are still big sellers and they aren't even IN the WWE anymore. Just kind of confusing.

Agreed..I kinda marked,I'm also starting to like his new theme more&more!!

Saw both Impact and SD, highlights for me:

Impact

- The Sting, Jarrett, Karen segments were fun, Sting is great in his GM role

- Everything with Bobby Roode, I hope there is another shot for AJ down the road

- Angle's promo

- Bully Ray's promo, they need to push him more

- The ending with Sting and Hardy taken out after a forgettable main event

Smackdown

- The Cody/Booker promo and the excellent Cody/Bryan match with the slick finish Nexy mentioned

- Big Show vs Swagger was a very good match and Henry's heelness afterwards was perfect

- Randy Orton continuing to evolve his character

- Alicia Fox's valiant attempt to get her horribly scripted lines over

- The tag team main event was decent but I'm already tired of Wade Barrett.

She's gonna hurt someone with that finisher of hers. And I ain't talking the roll up.

Barrett has stalled. He's not progressing at a fast enough rate in the ring and while he is well spoken, I've seen the cerebral heel act done much better.

Yeah, she seems to have had no control of that what so ever. She drove her foot right into Natalya's face...wonder if she punched her in the face when they got into the back, heh.

Just saw where HHH has a new DVD coming out in time for WM28. It'll be interesting to see what the title is. When Michaels had a dvd come out before his rematch with Taker he ended up retiring.

I thought Angle saying he was gonna beat up everybody in James Storm's hometown was ridiculous but otherwise it was good. Agreed about Bully Ray. The guy cuts one of the best promos in wrestling.

Stings the best kind of authority figure...the kind where the show doesn't revolve around him. Triple H should have taken notes.

I enjoyed Show vs Swagger too. I'm glad to see we had two REAL tag teams going at it with the Usos and Primo and Epico. A shame the Harts aren't there. Hopefully this means a rebuilding of the tag division.

I honestly thought she broke Natalyas eye socket or nose. That move of Fox's is just an injury waiting to happen because she shows no concern for the people she's doing it on.

And what the f*** is that stupid Fox head hood of hers?

The merchandise always stayed popular and they've brought DX back a couple times ( in 2006 and 2009) to capitalize on it's success. Also Stone Cold and the Rock both debuted new shirts when they make appearances. So technically they're all still relevant .

It was ridiculously bad, landed straight across her face. And you know nothing will be done until she DOES **** someone up.

Whatever it is, it makes me want to dump a bucket of red paint on her.

Seth Rollins, the former Tyler Black, will be going on the road with the main WWE roster for the post-holiday TV and house shows the week of 12/26 so Producers and management can take a first hand look at him.

I don't know if he's being brought to the main roster officially, but there's been rumblings about bringing Rollins in recent weeks internally.

Rollins, a former ROH champion, has been one of the top standouts for WWE developmental this year with an incredible series of matches against Dean Ambrose.

They also had a cage match on RAW in 2008 not too long after Chris Jericho finally won back a world title at Unforgiven.
