Splitting into two teams with Logan on X-Froce and Cyclops on Uncanny X-Men is actually a really good idea. Everything is a what if scenario. But Logan can do his snikt slash thing more on X-Force and the X-Men need time to develop on their own.

It wouldn't be a good decision since I don't think they will do well at the box-office.

You don't think anything outside of the main films will do well at the box office.

Based on...what?

The only spin off X-Men movies we've gotten are Origins and now TW. Origins was the top grosser of the entire series regardless of its quality. TW (because of its budget) may end up being the most financially successful. There's literally no criteria to base that statement on.

First Class is also a spin-off.

With every spin-off movie that they will release, the box-office numbers will go lower and lower, pre-DOFP.

First class was not a spin off, it was an X-Men movie. Prequels/sequels are not spinoffs when they feature the same main characters and story thread. Not sure how that's arguable

Ok before I actually go into breaking down box office returns on this series are you actually basing what you're saying off of tangible information or just spouting what you *think* is happening but phrasing it as fact?

I'm merely basing it on domestic/worldwide numbers.

Maybe FOX got more money with XWO, FC and soon TW than X3 because those movies had a lower budget. But I feel like with spin-offs they are settling themselves for lower box-office numbers and I don't think it really helped the franchise. This will be the 2nd time since 2011, that the other superhero movies outgrossed a X-Men film.

You can't possibly be basing what you're saying off of box office numbers because the first four X-Men movies each made more money than the previous ones. Then First Class came out, which didn't perform great but it did well considering A) it had a way smaller budget than the previous movies, and B) there was zero cross marketing aimed towards kids which are the target demographic for comic book movies.

Same goes for Wolverine. Smaller budget, no kid-friendly marketing. And if it goes along with tracking it will end up doing great numbers.

The only spin off that can be properly tracked at this time is Origins and it did better than any other X-Men movie.

So again, what exactly are you basing your *facts* on because they are pretty off

No. If you adjust the numbers for ticket price inflation

1 X-Men: The Last Stand $291,969,100
2 X2: X-Men United $290,877,200
3 X-Men $238,138,400
4 X-Men Origins: Wolverine $196,762,200
5 X-Men: First Class $148,388,400
6 The Wolverine $20,448,700

Its very clear that the films with the original films did better at the box-office than the spin-offs.

There's no information about worldwide adjusted numbers, but if its available, I'm pretty sure X1 sold more tickets than Origins/First Class.

Man I have a copy of X-Force 1 somewhere, never thought they would make a movie of it!! If Wolvie and Yukio were in it, that would be so cool.

Wadlow interview on X-Force
http://screenrant.com/x-force-movie-interview-jeff-wadlow-characters-story-deadpool/

Jeff Wadlow: What ‘X-Force’ is – the way I talk about ‘X-Force’ is… ‘X-Men’ is about mutants, and not all the mutants get into the mansion. So I’m curious to tell a story about the mutants who don’t make it into the mansion.

I definitely can’t tell you the lineup – we want that to be a big surprise.

Look, I’m a huge Deadpool fan, who doesn’t love Wolverine – but obviously Cable is an iconic character we haven’t seen onscreen yet. I love Psylocke, Domino is an amazing character – it’s a long list of characters that have appeared in ‘X-Force’ – Colossus is in the current lineup… There’s a lot of really exciting characters that you can use in ‘X-Force’ that have been in other movies, that haven’t shown up, or maybe there’s ways to re-imagine them, even though they might’ve shown up in other films.

Basically when they hired Mark [Millar] to oversee their Marvel properties, he started talking about some characters they were thinking about doing solo films with – that could maybe then lead to a team movie - sort of following the Marvel/’Avengers’ model. And I said, ‘Wait, wait, wait, that’s not what’s cool about X-Men! Marvel’s doing individuals who become a team; this should be about, like, other teams, and I want to make an ‘X-Force’ movie, and this is how I would do it.’ And I pitched him the idea, he got real excited and gave me some great notes that I incorporated, we took it into the studio, I pitched them, they loved it and they said ‘Let’s do it.’

He pretty much confirmed the team right there. Didn't even try to be discreet.

Also it's weird this still doesn't have a section when it's more real than Justice League.

Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, Domino, Psylocke would be awesome badass 5.

So Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, Domino, Psylocke and Colossus. Yeah, that would work for me (Colossus is a bit of a surprise).

He's just talking about how theres been alot of characters on the team. But yeah, Colossus showed up in The Deadpool script too... with more to do then he does in the X-Men films haha. Maybe they are trying to find room were he won't get limited screen time.

No Wolverine. It's:

Cable
Deadpool
Psylocke
Domino
Colossus

He said the team would only have 5 members and said Deadpool doesn't like Wolverine...I take that to mean Wolverine won't be on the team and it will be those 5.
