The X3 Cast Thread

This is an ad that was in weekly Variety for Hugh's Woody Allen movie Scoop.

I can't believe he's using Scarlett Johansson in another movie. Hugh looks great!

Aww, look at the little skirt on his daughter.

Aww, I want him to be the father of my future children! :O

Omg, they have a great economical, eletric hybrid car...!

I still think this cast is superb, the only cast member I am not deadset on is Ian as Magneto. Maybe next round, we'll get a tough kinda younger Magneto.

Magneto survived IIWW... if he was 10-12 between 1939-1945, he should be at least 77 years old! McKellen is 65-66, I don't know exactly, so he's even younger than he should be... :O

Since Hugh is filming The Prestige, I bet the car was provided by Disney/Touchstone which is producing the movie.

Here's part of a press release for a movie Ashley signed with (this also confirms she's in X3) :D

I'm not posting the full release... it's too long. If you want to see it, go to www.elishacuthbertfan.net

Bosworth and Reynolds team up for Mark Waters film.

Following the hit films "Just Like Heaven," "Mean Girls," and "Freaky Friday," director Mark Waters announces a new romantic comedy for 20th Century Fox. The still untitled film will mark Waters first film for the company and is written (with screen play) by Kristen Buckley, Dave Wagner, and Victor Levin. Production will start in late 2006 with a late 2007 release date in mind.

The film stars Kate Bosworth (United Talent Agency) and Ryan Reynolds (United Talent Agency) Full cast details below.

Set in New York City, the story focuses on three young girls living on their own and deals with their love lives. Karen (Bosworth) was always a sensible strong minded woman, who concentrated on work and achieving her personal ambitions. She never had or made time for a love life and took care of her two younger sisters, Paige (Cuthbert) and Brittany (Hartman).

....

Brittany is the epitome of beauty and perfection, which means she gets all of the attention her two older sisters wish they had and gets everything and anything she wants.

Tim (Ledger) plays love interest to Paige while Lucas (Murray) plays love interest to Brittany.

Starring:
Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns, Seasons of Dust, Beyond the Sea, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!)
Ryan Reynolds (Blowback, Ride Along, Chaos Theory, Smokin' Aces)
Co-starring:
Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, Casanova, The Order, Ned Kelly)
Elisha Cuthbert (Conflict, Captivity, House Of Wax, The Girl Next Door)
Chad Michael Murray ("One Tree Hill," House Of Wax, A Cinderella Story, Freaky Friday)
Ashley Hartman (Darkchylde, Spider-Man 3, Abominable, X-Men 3)

so she's officially in Spidey 3 too?

^^^ Avi Arad maybe? ;)

j/k

Has anyone here heard about an X-Men 2.5 dvd coming out?

is Darkchylde a Marvel entity? I know its a comic book thing, and she's playing the lead...

Why is it that whatever picture I see of Ben he's always wearing that shirt but in different colours?

McKellen: Industry rejects gay US actors
Sunday, February 12 2006, 22:28 GMT -- by Dave West

Sir Ian McKellen has said the US film industry stops openly gay American actors being successful.

Speaking as he received a lifetime achievement award at the Berlin Film Festival, the gay British actor said the sad situation makes it hard for homosexuals to be open.

"It is very, very, very difficult for an American actor who wants a film career to be open about his sexuality," he commented. "And even more difficult for a woman if she's lesbian. It's very distressing to me that that should be the case."

The star added: "The film industry is very old fashioned in California."

Jackman in training for Boy From Oz

Hugh Jackman has until August to get into shape to play Peter Allen in the physically gruelling stage musical, The Boy From Oz.

And he's well under way with an intense training regime.

"I was kayaking on the harbour this morning at 6am," Jackman said in Sydney today.

"I have got to get very fit again and strong. I am dancing and doing a lot of yoga. Having done it for a year [on Broadway] eight times a week, I am confident I can do it."

Following the success of the Broadway production of the same name, Jackman and producers Ben Gannon and Robert Fox are bringing the show home - but this time it has been upsized.

The arena musical will start at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on August 3, with tickets to go on sale on February 27.

The show will then travel to Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane, and there is talk of dates to be set in Perth.

For Australia, Chrissy Amphlett will play Judy Garland and Angela Toohey will play Allen's former wife Liza Minnelli.

Allen's mother, Marion Woolnough, will be played by Colleen Hewett.

"I am really excited about taking the show to the next level," said Jackman, who won a prestigious Tony Award for his energetic performance on Broadway.

"It is new territory for me, mate. This is my rock star dream, I suppose.

Critics lauded Jackman's portrayal of Allen - the flamboyant and energetic boy from Tenterfield in north-western NSW, who helped define the disco era in the 1970s and '80s, before succumbing to AIDS in 1992.

The first Boy From Oz production opened in Sydney in March 1998 and went on to become the most successful new Australian musical ever staged.

Dancing with the Stars judge Todd McKenney was in the lead role then, with Jackman taking on the Broadway lead in October 2003.

That production ended in September last year and there has been much speculation about Jackman possibly taking the musical to London's West End, Las Vegas or Los Angeles.

Following Australia, Jackman would like to take the production to London.

"If this works ... I hope that we could do it in London and maybe back in America," said Jackman.

Jackman last performed on the Australian stage eight years ago, playing screenwriter Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard.

The actor, who studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, is one of Australia's biggest stars in Hollywood.

His film credits include Swordfish, Van Helsing, Kate and Leopold, Someone Like You and the X-Men films.

He's got a number of releases over the next 12 months including the third X-Men movie, Scoop, Happy Feet, The Fountain, The Prestige, Flushed Away, Wolverine and Good.

And Jackman said his role in The Boy From Oz had increased his credibility as a performer.

"Spielberg saw it, lots of people saw it and see me now in a different way," he said.

"That was not my intention ... some people thought I was nuts to take it on."
