I agree, Joker. I find this 2012 doomsday to be hilarious. I've seen the silly youtube videos with eerie music, it must be effective to get so many people worked up and believing in it! Apparently a comet or asteroid will smash into the earth, or a mysterious planet, or a black hole will consume us all...despite that the center of galaxy being 30,000 light years away. I suppose...if the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy was 'magically' launched towards us at the speed of light, it would still take 30,000 years to get here. So, 2012 is a bit soon.
I'm not looking to offend anyone or debate their beliefs and opinions, and normally I wouldn't have responded to this thread, if it weren't for yesterday. I was walking on a sidewalk in downtown from a restaurant when this man with a sign made of cardboard hanging over his chest and on his back. "Repent now! Nibiru 2012!". He was giving away pamphlets and asking for donations, I simply laughed. Every now and then hucksters will come up with new apocalypse scenario. Simply put, the Mayans stopped drawing their calendars beyond 2012, they had to stop at some point. Why would they be more knowledgeable of an "end" then modern scientists of today?
How many times has the world been foretold to end? Yes, the earth and humanity will end one day. But it wont be 2012.
Just don't buy into it.
