Judgement Day!
But, hey with global warming we could all be entering this day:
![]()
I doubt that the Mayans could have predicted that since it's largely our fault over time due to the industrial revolution. But, it might happen in my lifetime (I'm only 19), so who knows?
All I know is at 2012 I'll be partying with my friends on new years and make a sarcastic toast, "to the end of the world, drink up my harties yo ho", because 2012 is- imo- pay day, not end of days. And I only believe that due to experiencing and witnessing freak weather anomalies recently.
I'm frankly sick of hear about that Mayan calender thing, the History Channel airing a special about it was the last straw. Why the hell do some people prance around acting like the Mayans were all knowing? Being able to predict a solar eclipse is totally different from predicting the end of the world.
Oh lord, how drunk was I when I made this thread?![]()
Oh no! The global warming wolves are coming for me!
Not exactly the film. Lol.t:
But, freak weather anamolies- yeah.
oh okay, that would explain it...hehe
It’s not only the Mayan calendar!I'm frankly sick of hear about that Mayan calender thing, the History Channel airing a special about it was the last straw. Its not only the Mayan calendar!
But most calendars all over the ancient world including the Babylonians, the Egyptians etc, seems to predict the end of the world at the same time
This will be in about 4 or 5 years.

Yes indeed! Many were, and the Spanish did a number on their culture, but as a people their ultimate fate was intermixing with the European settlers, and breeding into and being lost in the colonial society. Most Mexicans today have at least some Mayan or Aztec ancestry.
I personally think they were just calculating as far ahead as they could at the time. With their level of sophistication today they could probably calculate to 2400 or something.
I'm sorry, but you do realize that the Mayans came up with the concept of "zero", right?I'm frankly sick of hear about that Mayan calender thing, the History Channel airing a special about it was the last straw. Yeah...because we know that mathematical concepts and predicting the end of the world are totally in the same field.I'm sorry, but you do realize that the Mayans came up with the concept of "zero", right?
I wonder if they had the internet? Hell, or even a calculator, for that matter. Let's see what the Mayans have to say about transistors, or electricity!PLAS said:and that their astronomic observations and knowledge rivals even the latest technological advancements made?
"Hey, guys! I just invented a new mathematical theorem, and I've mapped the stars! By the way, I'm also a ****ing psychic. Keep 2012 open in your datebooks, 'kay? ...why are you all looking at me like that?"PLAS said:according to them, the year 2012 is to be a year of great change, in which we shift into a new era
Dude, I know English isn't your first language...but come on. That sentence doesn't make any sense.PLAS said:reading a little bit instead of just talking without any knowledge tends to make one look a little bit foolish
We agree on one point.PLAS said:but who am I to question you, right? you don't believe the Mayans
Lady and gentlemen sometimes an event so strong might happen that it can reverberate through time itself through residue of ion, atoms and molecular structure and other stuff
...2010 or 2012?The Mayans werent the only one's to predict that bad things are coming in the year 2010.Nostradam predicted that a planel sized comet is due to hit us that year. And the So Called Bible Code) Has two such predictions around the same year. But thats if you believe in such things.
Uh....huh.The physical universe ended 7 years ago, we are nothing but an echo in time caused by its destruction. All echoes fade with time, and this 'time-echo' we exist in is no different, for we will slowly but surely fade into nothingness. The mayans forsaw this time echo as a continuation of our existence, and so paid no attention to the true destruction of our physical 7 years ago and instead marked the end of the world as 2012. Whether you doubt the end is in 2012 or not is of no importance, for all of this will fade into nothingness in 5 years.
Good god.
