The Year 2012 (Merged)

legend has it, the poles are gonna shift. the north pole will become the south pole, the south pole will become the north pole. crazy ****, man.

just came across a video called "the Esoteric Agenda" and if anyone here is either serious or at least interested in 2012 theories then PLEASE have a watch and let me know what you think. warning: it's a 2 hour video...

...at the very least, it's the best 'end of the world' theory/scenario i've heard so far.

no takers???

yeah...not liking the whole pole shift theory. not that i think it's impossible or anything, i just don't like the outcome...hehe. i like to think aliens are gonna come down or something.

Two hours is a while dude, can you summerise it?

If I found out there were only 4 years left I'd try heroin. I mean, it's gotta actually feel good, right? You don't see people beating up their Grandmothers for coke.

I'm not sure how i feel about it, if only they were more clear about what the end of the calander meant. "Dear Sir or Madame, in 2012 we'ze gone blow up, Thank you"

i know i'm gonna muck this up because i didn't retain all the info, but in a nutshell they're saying that there's a secret government that's been around since before America was discovered and that secret government decides everything that goes on. they draw parallels between cycles predicted by ancients with various events of the 20th century. they make a case that this secret government is very real.

they then go on to explain how the world cannot substain the amount of people that are living by our current standards of living and it can only substain about 20 to 10% of our current world population. they then explain how the secret government will use food (something that everyone needs to survive) to get rid of 80% of the world's population starting in 2009 (look at the tomatoes) and by 2012 everyone will be begging and pleading for a resolution. at this time a world government will be made and it will focus on preserving and respecting the planet. they also say that there will be a new prominant 'religion' based on our Sun (which is believed to be where all of our current religions sprung from).

once again....i'm sure i mucked it up, but they go into a lot of detail and reference a lot of legit stuff. i'm sure there are many wholes in their theory, but it's one of most compelling 2012 theories i've come across.....especially considering the state that our world is in right now.

so noone is thinking that something positive will happen?

God, seriously. I've come to the conclusion that I am literally too lazy to worry about this thing anymore.

And Dorky, conspiracy theories? REALLY? :p

well...i like to think aliens revealing themselves would be a positive thing :D

what??? it's more entertaining than real life.......er at least mine. :(

I agree, something seems ready to happen.
Yes. Something is ready to happen. Lots of big things are ready to happen. And tons of big things will happen in 2011...and 2013...and 2014...and 2015...

It's called life on Earth, where events take place all of the time and some of them have a big impact on human beings.
The Black Plague wiped out SEVENTY FIVE MILLION PEOPLE. Makes the Holocaust look like a hold up at a seven-eleven.
Yeah, they were sure it was the end of the world too.

The Earth is not full of clockwork gears that give a crap about certain days or years.
Mankind has been anticipating big "End-of-the-World-as-We-know-it - events" that were foretold...since the beginning of mankind, and they never occur...because it's just quirky human nature, endlessly playing itself out.

:o

Well I have never heard of this theory before, although it seems to fit in with the concept of "death of the old world, followed by its rebirth". It's a little hard to believe that one secret government can influence the world like that. When I get time I'll probably start watching it, if anything it sounds like an interesting watch, cheers man.

Some "fun" facts for 2012:

January 31 — 433 Eros, the second-largest Near Earth Object on record (size 13x13x33 km) will pass Earth at 26.8 million kilometers; ~16.6 million miles.

June 6 — Second and last solar transit of the planet Venus of this century; the next pair is predicted to occur in 2117.

October 19 — at 01:36 UTC, the Earth will be home to 7 billion people, according to the US Census Bureau.

November 13 — Total solar eclipse (visible in northern Australia and the South Pacific).

the problem with the documentary IMO is that it looks like its fan made.
it looks like it was made up in one day. sorry......and the boy who talks doesnt help it.the theory is pretty awsome.

plus i dont like that sometimes he talks like what he says is fact.

I agree, something seems ready to happen.

1) The 'possibility' of planet X.

Planet X isn't coming toward earth. Planet X was spotted in 1984 and was said to be 50 billion miles away from earth. They later claimed it to be a brown dwarf. 8 years later in 1992, they said it was 7 billion miles away and was 4-8 earth masses. Brown dwarfs have around 15-80 Jupiter masses. So the two objects that were discovered are NOT the same thing. People are led to believe that these two objects are one of the same and are heading toward earth. Even if they were the same thing, it traveled 43 billion miles in 8 years. So it should have been here by now right?

2) The Mayan calendar.

The Mayan calender goes like this. It starts with 5 zeros (0.0.0.0.0) and after one day you add a one on the end (0.0.0.0.1). They did this for 19 days(0.0.0.0.19) untill the 20th day where it went like this (0.0.0.1.0). Here's the really cool part. The Mayans use 13 and 20 at the root of their numerical systems. This means the last day would occur on (13.0.0.0.0)(which is 5126 years). 5126 years after that is December 21st 2012. This guy said it best.

"when a calendar comes to the end of a cycle, it just rolls over into the next cycle. In our Western society, every year December 31st is followed, not by the End of the World, but by January 1st. So 13.0.0.0.0 in the Mayan calendar will be followed by 0.0.0.0.1 - or good-ol' December 22 2012, with only a few shopping days left to Christmas."

haters...hehe

that's pretty interesting. thanks for the info. i always wondered how the Mayan calender works. it's supposedly more accurate than the Gregorian calender.

Yeah, I was all worried about this but then I read an interview with someone with a Ph.D in Anthropology who had specialiized in the Mayans... and he essentially said that the entire thing was ******** and the Mayans were just going to have to make a new calendar in 2012, not that the world was going to end. He seemed pretty annoyed in the interview too haha. I think he said something along the lines of 'Every single lecture I give now ends up at this topic, and the more I debunk it, the more it seems people bring it up. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.'

Then I stopped worrying :) (Also I am too freaking lazy to care anymore)

The Mayans seemed confident that they would still be around after 5126 years. I still like the fact that they had star maps and knew our position in this galaxy so many years before modern science knew.
