If y'all are expecting Zendaya to have red hair in this movie, I would like to remind y'all that Hollywood does not believe that non-white redheads exist, and therefore non-white actresses, even biracial actresses would most likely not ever be asked to change their hair color.

That's true although there's been A LOT of conflicting info from the trades in terms of Zendaya's character.

It sounds like her character will be teased throughout the narrative, with her big reveal set towards the end...

I honestly don't think she'll have nearly as much screentime as Laura Harrier but (if rumors prove true!) she's playing the most iconic female from the Spider-Man mythos and will be front and center, in the spotlight, in future films.

Yeah trades have been conflicting although, I think they have settled on the term female lead now.

I agree that Zendaya's part will be smaller than Laura's, the whole expanding role made me believe her role is small, if she had a significant amount there would be no need to say her role would expand.

I don't like this at all. They could have made a perfect Spider-Man universe just like in comics but they make odd casting decision. I just don't like that they change characters like this. I'm in no way racist. Also Mary Jane should be red head.

Spider-Gnome posted this in the news and speculation thread which was his speculation from a while back, I feel like this will end up being very accurate.

Actually, call me crazy, but I'm starting to think there might be something to Zendaya becoming MJ. It was mentioned Zendaya had a small role in this, but it becomes bigger later on. It was said Zendaya "pines" for Pete. The director mentioned the comic Spidey Loves MJ (or MJ Loves Spidey, keep forgetting the title) yet she is not mentioned in the film. Add the "basket case" from Breakfast Club who transforms at the end. I can see them going, as others speculated, with Zendaya's character transforms, leading to the "Jackpot" line.

Her character is obviously a nerd who'll get the She's All That makeover for the Homecoming dance and Peter the dunce will realize the girl next door was really the girl of his dream's.

Definitely gonna get the "Face it Tiger" line
