If somebody want to manip her as Angel Salvadore, or storm..![]()
You guys are so weird .. she is Angel Salvadore lol
Until we are told otherwise or that she is Storm, just accept that she's Angel. Don't get your hopes high It's smart to introduce newer characters and save Scott, Jean and Storm for later movies because let's face it, we will watch anything they throw at us. They've got us by the balls lol ..![]()
i was told she was playing Cecila Reyes, another source told me it was Angel Salvadore.
I never said McAvoy was A-list or a household name, but he's pretty well-known internationally. Kevin Bacon is well known, of course.
Bryan Singer - despite his ill-judged decision to make Superman Returns and the rather lacklustre Valkyrie - is a well-respected director who has become synonymous with the X-Men franchise even though he had been absent from it for years.
I agree with you that he wasn't the right fit for Superman. And I agree with some of what you say about his X-Men movies (part of the reason I like X3 is that it feels more comicbooky and fantastical). He's certainly not the only person who could make an X-Men film, but he's approached the X-Men with the most respect and care so far. I loved Snyder's Watchmen, which is one of the few comic book films where you can totally accept the costumes and characters without question, so you'd get a very different X-Men if a more stylised director like Snyder was involved. But the bottom line is that Singer's films have been the most widely accepted (by fans, critics and mainstream viewers) and Fox knew this when they invited him back to be involved again.
Matthew Vaughn is fairly well known too, for Layer Cake and Stardust. I'm interested to see how his vision meshes with Singer's ideas.
I'm in the UK, so maybe the perception of those people's recognition and starpower is different here, but I'd say they will all help to sell this film. So will the involvement of Jane Goldman, the wife of UK presenter Jonathan Ross.
As for The Expendables vs Scott Pilgrim, well I brought that up and, as I said, including a whole pile of old action stars (who looked like waxworks at the UK premiere, as they've all had so much work done) has wider appeal than a stylised comic book adaptation, which is a shame. Because Scott Pilgrim has more panache and originality than seeing arthritic action stars dodging endless explosions and bullets. Don't get me wrong, I love action movies (i've been enjoying some UK re-runs of films featuring Expendables actors, films like Cobra etc). But having big names doesn't make it a better film.
Oh boy where do I start. McAvoy is a good actor and I like him but a well known household name and box office draw he isn't and I stand by what I say. Internationally he's big???? I guess.
Um try rereading my post. No where in my post about Singer will you find me disrespecting him as a director. He is a good director for a certain genre and I stand by my claims that this man is not the right director for properties such as Xmen or Superman. He has limited imagination in my opinion for the sci-fi/comicbook/fantasy element of films such as Xmen or superman. A two hour plus Superman film with a 200 plus million dollar budget and all Supes does is lift stuff???? Anytime you here a director saying as Singer did "that I want to keep it grounded in realty" they should be shown the door. I think i speak for all fans and those who love these type of films don't want to see it reduced in it's greatness by trying to ground it in our world. It's not supposed to be. I'll say it again. Singer's Xmen films just didn't suck, but they werent good Xmen films in relation to the comics.
While I've enjoyed Layer Cake, Stardust, and Kick Ass, none have been box office successes. Vaughan is a decent director, but I would't call him visionary or awesome. He's not well known, in fact few directors are. Most people couldn't tell you the director of a movie if you asked them. That I would put money on. If you stood on a busy street corner and asked the 1st 100 people who directed Xmen I'd be surprised if you can get to 5 and the odds are even worse for Vaughan and his films. Hell Id be surprised if you can find 5 outta the 1st hundred you asked who even know about both Layer Cake and Stardust.
We can agree on the Expendables and Scott Pilgrim. Nerver said you were wrong on that front. I just said that Scott pilgrim based on the trailers and advirtisments didn't come across as appealing. It was an enjoyable film but it's more cult classic material then a box office success. I still believe that it wasn't star power that pulled in people more so then all the old action stars from decades past was pulled together in one film.
While I'm certain she IS Angel Salvadore, that article just proves that Marvel.com knows just as much as every other website who reports things from Deadline. They just quoted everything else that's online, so its no confirmation of anything.Well, I think we can officially say she IS going to be playing Angel Salvatore. It says so on Marvel.com
