The obvious thing with having Gwen in the movies is the story of her death - well, not that it's even a story really, it's an event, it's a shock. I really think that's the last big thing the movies have left. It's the story David Fincher wanted to make.

However, with no surviving Goblins, how could it be done?

what difference would her death make? She's not the love of his life in these movies.

maybe shell become carnage with the symbiote...god i hate ultimate spiderman.

^ why she became carnage??? wow gwen becoming black cat is starting to sound like not such a bad idea lol

i dont read ultimate, so forgive me if im getting the plot wrong, but from my udnerstanding, Carnage killed Gwen, and Carnage in the ultimate universe isnt Kassidy, its just like the symbiote and some of peters blood. So S.H.I.E.L.D. got Gwen's corpse and tried cloning her, and some of the Carnage DNA was on her. So now Gwen's clone is Carnage. So in essence Gwen Stacey is Carnage. Im sure i missed some details, but the whole is so ******ed. I know im biased because i love 616 continuity, but for the love of god, Gwen as Carnage? I dont know who thinks thats remotley a good idea.

It would be more interesting if MJ became Carnage.

No you people got it all wrong. Avi Arad sent me a treatment last night and here's how it goes:

Burns the Butler goes into the Goblin lair and he takes the serum, goes insane and begins to see Norman in the mansion. The dead Norman then tells him to kill Spider-Man. The butler becomes what Avi described to me as "The Old Goblin." A psycho killer who lures Spider-Man into his trap using the date rape drug. But instead of killing Spider-Man, he decides to kill MJ, which Avi told me was better than killing Gwen because MJ had become overweight and snaggle-tooth.

i always thought that they should've had Gwen in the first film then introduce MJ at the end the same way she was intoduced in the comics but i realized having Spider-Mans uncle die AND his gf would be a little too much..

I think they'll go the Ultimate Spider-Man route and Gwen and Captain Stacy will be killed by Carnage. Though, Carnage will probably be basic Carnage, not the bioengineered Carnage.

I can live with that, again just as long as Gwen isnt Carnage :cmad:

Maybe they could subplant Green Goblin with Carnage as the instrument of Gwen's death?

P.S. I hadn't read anyone else's posts in here and was just taking an educated guess because I've never read an Ultimate comic nor picked one up because I hate the Ultimate line.

why do people keep calling the butler Burns?

I thought his name was Bernard.

Also in Ultimate, MJ becomes a werewolf. The madness doesnt stop there.

Here's an idea, how about they never do a freakin' Gwen Stacy/Goblin story, because this isn't the comic books, not everything should be followed as so. If it was like the comics, Spider-Man would have fought The Chameleon in the first film, and not the Green Goblin. Don't make bring up the mechanical webshooters, because I will. The Goblins are dead, and quite frankly, I'm glad, we've seen enough Goblins to make Halloween come twice a year. No more, let's move on with the damn franchise.

*puts foot down*

Here's a good idea for Gwen's demise, and for a 4th and 5th film while I'm at it:

Marko should return and do to her what he did to Uncle Ben. Then Peter asks the symbiote in Connors' lab for help. He bonds with it again and goes after Sandman. Sandman says he killed Gwen by accident. Peter says he forgives him as he dances off into the sunset. Later on, Peter and the symbiote get in a fight because the symbiote is making Peter into a bad apple again. "I thought we went through this" says Peter. They unbond via MJ's singing voice. The symbiote finds it's way towards Bernerd - Harry's trusty butler. They become "Bernom" and seek revenge on Peter. And that, boys and girls, is your cliffhanger leading into Spidey 5.

people seem to be glossing over this very smart post. that was the real reason it was such a shock when Gwen died, because Peter loved her so much. considering that in the movies Gwen is, from Peter's own words "just a girl in his class", it'd be pretty pointless and pretty undramatic.

Aunt May becomes Carnage

AUNT DARTH MAUL!!! :csad:

Killing Gwen would mean nothing and would be pointless....MJ on the other hand..........
