I hate that Sylvester Stallone is being inducted into the boxing hall of fame. He hasn't done a damn thing worth being in such a great class!

He's not going in as a fighter, but as a contributor. Rocky definitely had an impact on boxing probably more than any other film had on its sport. He earned a spot in the boxing Hall of Fame as Rocky Balboa is a boxing icon. A fictional boxing icon, but an icon. Many boxers will tell you that they loved Rocky.

It doesn't matter though because the movie hasn't done much at all for the sport. I know a lot of people like it, but it in no way pushed boxing forward. The sport had already been around ages before the movie, and many of the stars that elevated the sport after Rocky received no boost at all from him.

Julio Cesar Chavez was beloved because he was an icon to the Mexican people. That had nothing to do with Rocky.

Mike Tyson was one of, if not the, most exciting heavyweight fighter of all time. Nothing to do with Rocky.

The only people that need to be in the hall are people that directly contribute to the sport. Boxers, trainers, commentators, promoters. A popular movie is nothing compared to people physically contributing. Rocky came out thousands of years after boxing was originated. A very very small percentage of people watched the sport because of those movies.

Besides...all 6 of those movies suck hard!

And to say that Rocky had no impact on boxing or pop culture is definitely wrong. I'm not saying that it directly affect all boxers, but many boxers appreciated that film loved it. And it did get people interested in boxing. Many people would say hated/disliked boxing but loved Rocky. There were also non fans who became fans of boxing because of Rocky.

This too. I'm not a religious person but I hated that Atheist billboard calling the birth of Christ a myth. It's uncalled for not matter what you believe. Let the people celebrate in peace.

I hate that E-Man didn't get to see Rocky IV opening weekend in a sold-out theater. Because that was a great experience.
