Probably because your favorite superhero attracts A-hole fans. :o

That is a myth, it has never made sense to me why people would think that, when it's so obvious that the Batman boards are more popular than any of the others, so if there is a larger pool of people, there is more chance of there being argumentative types, and they will obviously post more.

edit: oh, and i just remembered something i hate, I hate obvious asskissers...the kind of people who go about giving  and :applaud icons to other people's posts day in day out, with one person in particular I have seen doing this, it's just so obviously insincere and insulting in a way, all they are doing is trying to drum up 'back up', and make 'friends'.
I don't mind this practice at all when it is sincere, of course not, but you can tell when someone does it all the time, they are just insincere and trying to kiss ass in an attempt to be popular. I would in all honesty prefer everyone on Earth hated me with a vengeance, than to post up any insincere asskissing crap like that.

Insufferable geniuses. I won't front, I am a pretty intelligent kid, as I have been in advanced classes since grade school, but some of the peers and colleagues over the years have had this "everyone else is just beneath my level of intellect" thing going on which just bugged the **** out of me.

I don't know man, if you are going about with the thought in your mind that you have been in advanced classes and stuff, and that automatically makes you smarter than the other people in the classes below you, you are shooting yourself in the foot with that statement.

We all get arrogant at times about stuff, well, apart from some exceptioanlly nice people I imagine, and that same person can feel like the stupidest person in the room at times too. The trick is to just think of yourself as a person who is willing to learn and makes mistakes, try to drop your ego and laugh at yourself.
It's ok to use stuff like that if you are questioning yourself, 'am i dumb? well, I was in advanced classes, so i must be smart', but i would be careful *what* you use for that, so you don't end up thinking the same way as the arrogant people. edit: ie think of something you did on your own, not something that's in comparison to other people.
I mean, I have been slagged off on message boards more times than I can remember for being quite casual in my observations, or presentation, but when i do think to myself, are they right? i remember the time at the end of my 1st year at art school when i did an essay on a whistler painter when i was brutally hungover, the day before it was to be handed in, and in one draft, just sat in front of the painting and let it fly, and i got an A minus from a tutor who was notorious for never ghiving out A's.
So, I can rest easy and type up crap as much as i want on message boards with that in mind, let them slag me off all they want, academic stuff is easy. Just be careful only to define your own intelligence by what you do, not by comparing it to other people, because you will fail when you do that, you do not have all the information on those people.

Well, that's a damned if you, damned if you don't scenario. There's a difference between false humility and a hidden condescending nature.

Yeah, and when you don't personally like someone , it's very easy to turn around and accuse them of the worst possible way of thinking, when they might actually have a healthier attitude than yourself.
We all go around thinking we are so sure about this that and the next thing, damn, i love to be proven wrong when I think badly about someone, even someone who hates my guts. I'd prefer they were not an ass to other people, even if they were an ass to me, but people can take advantage of you being 'friendly to a fault', so i have to be careful about that, and be wary of other people's motives.

edit: and no, i don't think there is a 'damned if you don't damned if you do' to what i was saying..
instead of repeating myself as i just did...
edit: I just thought it was a curious thing to say in regards to the thing you hated, rather than 'I know i'm smart cause I got good marks in school'. Because it suggested you might've been steering into the way of thinking that you were bemoaning of 'insufferable genuises', as just saying 'I was in advanced classes', instead of 'I got good marks when i was at school' suggests you were going around thinking you were in a higher class of people.

I hate dimwits who think they can sweep all the bad lying conspiracy stuff they were involved in under the carpet and can hold their head higher, just because someone else did some messed up stuff. Well, at least I am not a conniving pre-meditative lying little sneak, I don't hold bad stuff in myself like that, I'm more of the stupid clueless selfish **** type. One potato head does not cancel out the other potato head, so sayeth this stupid, ugly potato head.

I hate that it's going to be one of the coldest weeks ever here this week after we've had two beautiful days in the mid 70's.

What's it gonna be? 50 degrees?

Heh, call me when it's 20 below. :funny:

Screw you people and your cold places. When it's below 50 that's worth killing a man in these parts. Of course damn near anything is worth killing a man around here, but I digress.

I hate that my laptop crashed because of a virus and I had to completely reformat it! :argh:

I hate people who sit next to you in the internet café or computer lab and look at your screen. Mind your own business.

I hate it when your computer lags/freezes in the middle of something mildly important.
Like an intense game of snake.

I hate when people in internet cafes get mad at me for looking at their screens. MY COMPUTERS BROKEN JUST LET ME LOOK AT YOURS.

on the topic of that, i hate when someone sticks their head over your shoulder to see what you're doin

certainly nothing exciting about my assignment :/

I hate when posters/moderators on the Hype have private conversations via PM and then discuss said conversation in a public thread, leaving out every detail and alienating other people who have no idea what they're talking about.

I also hate when people do that **** in real life.

70's sound awesome. We're about to get two feet of snow dumped on us in Chicago. I love snow, but two feet in 24-36 hours ... ugh.
